Welp, defense didn't hold all game. A lot to ask. We need Mathis to heal up. We have a winnable game vs a trending up Albany next week.

BTW, we need Will Michael to punt the frickin ball. Eberle needs some time to work through whatever is getting between his ears. We don't have to start every TFr.

Also, Tribester stinks.

Was a good try. Team learning still, defense played great. Albany next week.

ECU now near 500 total yards (480). W&M at 260.

Some betting folks will be none too happy with that end

Defense balled out ... I think if Mathis is healthy we’re going to be competitive in the CAA

I think this was a poor showing by Kilton. He is much better than he showed tonight. If he is pressed into action, I expect him to produce and do better.

The end of that game was a textbook example of why betting on sports is not a smart way to make a living. Talk about a backdoor cover!

Albany is a must win because of the gauntlet that follows. Team needs to get more confidence before that stretch. Going to be a brutal CAA season for everyone in the league.

Knew it wouldn’t be an easy game for the Pirates, and I’m sure you’re going to have a really good year. Bill Murray is a great player and he’d start from day 1 at ECU.

Yeah, but we needed our backs not named Crist to get rolling. The previously successful pitches weren't employed tonight and we didn't get it done between the tackles. Missed deep passes made for a bunch of screens. We win when we score 20 or more...the stat on that over the past few seasons is eye-opening.

Yeah what was up with that? I think that speed to the boundaries is our biggest strength on offense. Odd that we weren't trying to widen the field tonight.

That sums up how I feel about the game. Staying within 3 at halftime was great but the offense stalled and the defense wore down in the second half. Defensive line played well. Would have been interesting to see what Mathis would have done if he were in the whole game --- but at least we got a good look at Anderson. London needs to stop wasting timeouts.

Tonight was the first time that I thought we had an opponent that let us know where we stand. Cautiously optimistic. ECU seemed to a the equivalent of a solid upper half CAA team. Woulda, should coulda, but we were competitive and the game was winnable if a few things go the other way.

Nice job defense. They gave up just one TD on the road at an FBS opponent.

If someone told me we would only give one TD to ECU, I would have bet the house we win.
