Are you picking players based on their best season and this team is for only that season?

Makes a big difference if we are to have any type of interesting discussion imo, especially if you are not even going to propose and explain a team yourself.

That was a little short sighted on my end. Here's my best example below.
C - Nysier Brooks (18/19 - $3)
PF - Justin Jackson (13/14 - $4)
SF - Rashad Bishop (10/11 - $3)
SG - Jacob Evans (16/17 - $5)
PG - Troy Caupain (15/16 - $5)
Bench G - Farad Cobb (15/16 - $3)
Bench F/C - Eli Nsoseme (18/19 - $1)
Bench F - Rashawn Fredericks (18/19 - $1)
Very strong defensive team that can defend, rebound, and block shots but still has some facilitators/scorers. All bench players can come in and spell multiple positions while Cobb adds some much needed 3-point shooting.

RE: Create the best Cronin Era Bearcat team with $25
I put entirely too much thought into this. I started with the two guys I definitely wanted. I landed on Kilpatrick and Clark. I could see Cumberland above Kilpatrick after this season, but the bottom line is I want a pure scorer and Kilpatrick is the best we had under Mick. For my second I wanted a big who could fit perfectly with him. I think Clark's do everything mentality is huge.
The 1 dollar players mostly stink. I couldn't justify having any of them on the team except for Diarra so I'll grab him for some inside depth. I didn't want to spend more than 2 dollars on any bench spot so I landed on Guyn and Lojo as guys who can offer versatility from the wing/guard spots off the bench.
Now I have $10.00 for three roster spots. None of the $2.00 players can start on an ideal roster. So now I'm limited to one $4 and two $3. I really wanted Cash on this team, but ultimately I couldn't find a second big for $3.00 that could stay on the floor. DeBerry and Brooks are decent options, but both commit more than 5 fouls per 40 minutes. DeBerry was never a starter and Brooks could never stay on the floor against good teams.
Ultimately I went with Ellis over Justin Jackson and Kyle Washington. I like his length and athleticism. With the guys around him I think he'd be a nice center.
I went with Jenifer as my PG basically because Kilpatrick is going to handle the ball a ton so he can do what he does best and make smart passes / hit open threes. He's not Cash but I think he fills the spot nicely. I went Bishop at small forward to ad some defense.
PG Jenifer $3
SG Kilpatrick $5
SF Bishop $3
PF Clark $5
C Ellis $4
B Guyn $2
B Lojo $2
B Diarra $1
I still don't get what people see with Lance. I feel like we watched 2 different guys at UC. He had some moments, but ultimately was an incredibly inefficient player that didn't make his teammates better. Can't justify spending $5 on him.

I can see your beef with Lance, based purely on his production his freshman year. But if I am thinking about the guy as a whole- he has managed to stay in the NBA for a long time and log significant minutes- which is better than any other Cronin product. He will have moments where he looks like the best player on the floor, and other times you just don’t notice him other than blowing in someone’s ear.
Mostly I would just like to watch him playing air guitar when he hits a 3.

Had managed to stay in the NBA. He's playing in China next year.

RE: Create the best Cronin Era Bearcat team with $25
I'll take a different path. First I'll look for value, guys who for one reason or another I think are cheaper than the should be. I see a couple of those. 1st is Brooks ($3), I know he had foul problems in big games, but a better set of defensive players surrounding him should help with that. I consider him to be a better player than Kyle Washington ($4). Second is Justin Jackson ($4), sure Clark ($5) had a better career at UC, but if we look only at their senior years, I think Jackson was very comparable and more of an inside offensive threat (though he couldn't shoot the three). Finally I'll take Justin Jenifer ($3), his lack of height on defense is an issue, but his ability to spread the floor with the three is valuable. That leaves two $5 guys and I'd take Evans (his D puts him above the others) and Kilpatrick (can handle the load on O).
C: Brooks $3
PF: Justin Jackson $4
SF: Jacob Evans $5
SG: Kilpatrick $5
PG: Justin Jenifer $3
With $5 to spare the bench is.
Cheikh Mbodji $2
Fredericks $1
Guyn $2

RE: Create the best Cronin Era Bearcat team with $25
$5 Sean Kilpatrick (34 MPG)
$5 Jarron Cumberland (32 MPG)
$4 Cashmere Wright (30 MPG)
$3 Tre Scott (30 MPG)
$3 Rashad Bishop (28 MPG)
$2 Cheikh Mbodj (20 MPG)
$2 Ge'Lawn Guyn (18 MPG)
$1 Rashawn Fredericks (8 MPG)
Was tempted to include Clark or Evans instead of Cumberland, but in the tournament, there's no substitute for having two guys who can score in bunches.

RE: Create the best Cronin Era Bearcat team with $25
This was hard! Cash and Cumberland were the only no brainers for me. Cheikh Mbodj was top 10 in the country in block rate his senior year so he was an easy choice at $2 as well. Could’ve chosen Washington over Jackson or Clark for offense because I would still be left with two monster shot blockers. Other than Cumberland and Cash before his injury senior year, Cobb was the best 3 point shooter Mick had here. I picked Big Dave because I loved that zone defense we used to play when he came into the game where he would just stand in the middle and other teams wouldn’t know how to respond lol. I almost added Ibrahima Thomas because you gotta love a 7’2” dude with the confidence to come into a game for <5 minutes and immediately start bricking 3’s from the top of the key.
1. Cashmere Wright ($4)
2. Jarron Cumberland ($5)
3. Gary Clark ($5)
4. Justin Jackson ($4)
5. Cheikh Mbodj ($2)
Bench:
Farad Cobb ($3)
Big Dave ($1)
Jeremiah Davis ($1)

I think the only thing I remember about Lance was his dunk on Depaul.
