Homecoming Week-Bowling Green
Lets move on forward from last week.

Kent State opens as 8.5 favorites against BG. They will look to even their record two 2-2 for the first time since 2012.

Thoughts from everyone?

I hope these players are able to sleep restfully the night before. Amazing that a team that cant even win an intra-squad scrimmage gets hotel nights BUT MBB or Baseball or Golf do not. I hope our fearless punter is watching the allocations.

In Ohio, six Mid-American Conference teams that lodge their teams in hotels before home games spent an average of $4,042 per game, with the University of Akron spending $4,733 per game, Kent State $4,298, Ohio University $3,575 and Miami University $3,263.

How do you win an intra-squad scrimmage? Doesn’t half the team win and the other half lose?

No. We work on both sides losing. It gets the players and coaches prepared.

Answering the original question - I think they will have no problem scoring, but I worry about our run defense. Stout at times, wide open at others. Maybe if we aren’t as aggressive about blitzing & trying to tackle for a loss we will be better if we just stay home. BG doesn’t appear to be above average in the rushing department. We seemed to have pretty good speed on the edges.
How is the health of the O line?
I’m pretty excited to be able to see this game in person!

After being sacrificial lambs bringing almost $5million from the OOC games they can afford those rooms. And nothing like somebody joining a board to piss and moan about the football program with all 6 posts. Agenda? Nah! Keep up the good work!

I usually hate the term "must win", but this is certainly one. If they don't beat BG at home, it could be a longer year than anyone thought. I think they'll win, though. I hope.

I agree with you PH. I thought it was so neat when Coach Hazel would have the team arrive through town with the buses having police cruiser escort in 2012. It really got me charged for the game.

Read this post and thought what a great idea. Willing to guess that 2019 finds the team taking a back road into the stadium because to drive through town/campus would require the athletic department to coordinate with other elements

Calm down, I am being a smart ass. At least they boarded a plane to come home directly after their loss to Auburn and they didnt cost us another night.
No way do they deserve those rooms compared to programs that have won for over 20 years.

Why do they get hotels to begin with before home games?

RE: Homecoming Week-Bowling Green
The important point here is that Lewis is very early into his second season here. He was given very little in D1 talent to work with. Also, the previous staff did little to develop a program on a D1 level. From my viewpoint, I see real progress in the direction of this team. This is coming from one who is usually known to be very impatient when it comes to new coaching staffs. If we can get our fans to embrace this group of players and the ones that are being recruited, and this coaching staff, the reward will be there. This is in spite of the AD.

Really? You either joined a forum to piss and moan about football or are just using an alternate ID to flame away. Either way isn’t cool as it’s obvious you have a agenda and come off as a troll. If you’re truly a KSU fan you’d have join the forum and brought something constructive to the table before the flaming away.

Common practice in D1 football. Brings the players together the night before and instead of being out doing dumb shiznit they’re in meetings and going over things with the team before curfew and a better night sleep than they’d get in the dorm.
