Offense: B+

Can’t give it an A because of too many fg’s. But overall the offense played well. Ben had one of his best overall games IMO. He made some good throws off secondary reads and in traffic. Receivers let him down a couple times. The running game continues to look strong and play calling is starting to be more diverse.

Defense: C

It’s average. Mostly because we are not able to generate a pass rush. We can stop the run, but for whatever reason we can’t put real pressure on the qb in passing situations. I think the chatty qb and receivers are pretty decent, so I don’t blame the db’s as much as the front six for not getting to the qb and helping out.

Coaching: C-

We are winning and winning comfortably. But I still remain unconvinced at the staffs game-planning and way of playing. Ultra conservative. A little bland. We were told we’d have an agressive D that pressures the qb but all I see is 3 or 4 man rushes and late lb or dB blitzes that are not disguised very well at all. The coaches have had success. So have the players. So maybe it’s just a matter of the two sides not meshing. Return game is completely lacking. Amos doesn’t even get a chance at a return. How is that possible? I still see a MM 2.0 where we will be in tight games we should be way ahead and against really good teams we will fail to play to win. And there seems to be a decided lack of “juice” in this program that hasn’t been around since 2013.

Pretty much agree but I would reduce the coaching grade to D for the high school level teaching our DB coach is doing. The way you teach corners to cover in high school is a whole lot different than covering much more talented receivers in college. One CB and one safety are the only two that seem to know to "play the ball"

What is that vague claptrap suppose to mean? The 'juice' that in 2014 & 2015 gave us a Swiss cheese, charmin soft defense? The juice that last season led to an underachieving regular season & choking in the playoffs? That clown Withers talked about 'juice'...

Right, I don't really know what folks expect week to week 100-0 to be satisfied.....JMU is 3-1 and has outscored teams 156-53 and it is like the freaking sky is falling. These folks sound ridiculous and some kind of absurd bar set that anything sort of complete domination from week to week is all that is acceptable.

Geez JMU is 3-1 beaten badly all the teams we were supposed to beat. UTC was a decent OOC road game to prep for conference play.

If we dominated, they’d then complain we shouldn’t be in FCS.

Yes.....never seen such a glass half empty crowd that literally nit-pick everything no matter what is done
