Vanderbilt leaning on Neal, Mason’s experience against NIU

But if you ask Vanderbilt quarterback Riley Neal or head coach Derek Mason — both have prior experience playing NIU — Saturday’s game against the Huskies is not one to be taken lightly.

“I’m 0-4 against NIU in my career, so they’re a really good team. I think that’s understood,” Neal said. “I’ve played against a lot of players on their team. I think they have a little different scheme, so we’re just kind of going off what they’ve put on film so far.

Neal and Mason are a combined 1-7 against NIU. However, when Neal plays against the Huskies, he tends to have some of his better games. In three starts against the Huskies, he has averaged 309 yards passing with four touchdown passes against one interception.

What the writer fails to mention is that all four of Neal's touchdown passes came in Neal's first game (a loss) versus the Huskies and that he's been shutout of the TD column in his last two starts.

1) Beat Vandy
2) Go 8-4 or at least 7-5 this season
3) Win your bowl game

I would consider that another banner season.

For fans like me who cannot watch the game live the SEC net replays will be Sun at 3am central and Fri at 8am.

Answered my own question. Just download the espn app basically and the SEC network is free on there
