Indeed. I think we're set to have the most offensively balanced teams in Jones' tenure this year. If AC can manage to score from two feet out I dare say we might be good offensively.

Speaking of interesting takes. The Curtain has ODU finishing 9th. NINTH!!?!?!

And if you can't trust a Twitter account with 184 followers for your mid-major college basketball prognostications, who in this crazy world CAN you trust?

The curtain is a pretty funny follow for the most part. But this just ain't it.

From 2nd to 9th. All over the place. My preseason prediction is we're a borderline tier one team this year. Somewhere form 4th-6th.

The Twitter handle CUSA Curtain is pretty good though.

Wow. Huge difference between Lindys and Athlon. I think they're quite wrong about UTSA, UTEP and Charlotte. They must not have done any research either. Otherwise they would know UTEP and Charlotte have the best young players in the conference, ODU lost its top talent and UTSA brings back nearly everyone from a squad that could have easily won it all last year.

Id go with:
WKU
UTSA
La Tech
ODU
Marshall
MTSU
FIU
UAB
UTEP
Charlotte

the rest

Maybe they feel, as I do, that UTSA over achieved last year. Every game I watched them in they looked like a terrible mess. I feel like the ball bounced their way last year A LOT

We did a lot with pretty much just Freeman. They've got both Jackson and Wallace who are both straight up ballers. If they bring in some size this season they will be tough to beat.

I agree completely. I have word that he has been grinding on his jumper, and consistently hitting Treys in workouts. Obviously game speed is another beast but I think its a mental thing with him.

Keep in mind their duo of Jackson and Wallace were sophomores last season. So of course it's going to look bad at times. Plus, UTSA's favorite thing to do is lose all of their OOC games then suddenly get good during conference play. I will be mildly offended if a team with a high school gym wins the conference, but I'd rather them than WKU.

To me, the most sure things about the conference this year is WKU and UTSA at the top, and USM on the bottom. Biggest question marks are UTEP and Charlotte, they have brought in a lot of talent on paper.

I feel like we have been reading about all the talent UNCC brings in every year since we joined the league.

I mean, UTSA was 11-7 in conference and 17-15 overall.

sure Wallace and Jackson should get better, but Jackson is a straight up no defense, inefficient scorer. They also don't have a ton outside of those 2.

Charlotte could be much better with young talent, but they might be a year away.

I actually agree about Charlotte. They were competitive last year. lost a fair amount of close games. They actually have a real coach now and should be much better. I’m not sold on UTSA. Yeah they’ve got a couple good shooters but WKU is definitely the most athletic team. I think UAB has some nice athletes as well. I’d still be extremely surprised if ODU wasn’t top 4. Our quality of athlete is just way better than most of these schools.

11-7 last year was a tie for 2nd place

UTSA is one of those teams that can beat anyone on a given night. They can also go ice cold and start jacking up shots out of frustration. I'm not sure that they have style or personnel to have the consistency required to win a title.

Perhaps I'm biased and put extra stock into them after our debacle against them last year

Yep. That game was case-in-point. We totally dominated them for 37 minutes, blowing them out of their own gym. Then they caught fire, and, aided by a little sloppy play from us, well, we remember the Alamo.

Wow! That kid was a stud! I still remember what he did to us in the CUSA tourney. Although I’m thankful he didn’t hit his FTs late in the game that would have closed us out.

Wow. That is some news right there. UAB fans must be pissed. They are a lot like us and expect a lot from their basketball program. Imagine if we dismissed Green, that's what it must feel like. Sucks

Kariskos is now cleared to practice. About a month away from being game ready. Jones says he "seriously doubts" he will redshirt.
