But not the final minute (for those who, like me, had the Owls +32.5).

Coach Bloomgren needs to learn how to better take care of the alumni and just kick the ball out of bounds after securing the back-door cover with a minute to go -- Texas would have just knelt on the ball twice and everybody could have gone home happy. Or forget the alumni and just take care of the players -- a lot of injuries happen on kickoff returns; no need to risk anything vital with that score and that clock.

Ah well, onward and upward.

Heck, if they had attempted an onside kick that would have resulted in a) practice, b) a couple of knees by TX if we failed.

I’ve seen offside kicks returned for tds too.

But that said, I just recommend people watch the ‘94 game

Well, the ending of the Rice/UT game was on ESPN's bad beats segment on Monday night. It definitely made the cut, on a weekend where there were a lot of bad beats.

But it wasn't the worst bad beat of the weekend - the Rice game was only second to last. And the last one was a pretty horrific bad beat, if you had the under, from an Orioles/Tigers game that went to extra innings.
