We just don’t have the athletes. All flecks fault for not having a defense full of senior all Mac players remember?

Lester needs 7 years to recruit a legitimate defense.

His recruits looked great last night!

Anybody else notice how easy the rest of EMUs schedule is? They get to play KSU, BSU, CMU, Akron, and an FCS school. They might actually get to 8 wins. The MAC needs to step it up.

Illini's speed bothered them. We'll take care of EMU in front of their 10's of fans next month.

Arizona State runs a 3-3-5 defense similar to Tulsa's. Actually Sun Devils do more with alignments, slanting, blitzing than Tulsa did.

Apparently that scheme is Spartans' kryptonite.

They better get it figured out because they'll keep seeing it if they don't.

MSU did have over 400 yards total offense but just like against Tulsa couldn't finish drives, and this time their All-Big Ten kicker went 0-3.

Lol. Expect some of them to come in here and contest that comment. Doesn't take much to rile them up. They're elite against the big ten remember.

I always wonder if it's better for EMU and CMU to lose because that makes WMU the premier MAC program in the state. Or if we should be wanting them to win to make the MAC look better.

Just when I had written off CMu because of losing their QB and RB, they blast hapless Akron. McElwain can coach and Akron has gone backwards, which I didn't think was possible.

I was ready to crown EMU the in-state rival for this season but I know better. In this conference you need to be ready to play against everybody. But our guys need to beat them both and get that MI MAC trophy again. After Cuse, we need to find a laserlike focus on the Chimps.

Akron might be the worst team in FBS. They're completely inept.

It's hard to get a read on CMU because they've played two terrible teams and one really good team. And next week they play Miami (FL). I just don't think they currently have the talent to make any noise in the MAC, regardless of who is coaching. They got lucky with an easy schedule this year. Crossovers against Akron, BGSU and Buffalo. Home games against NIU and Toledo.

Football is a wild game. Why that transitive bs doesn't work.

Funny how we insist on "they played x, and we played y, and x and y played...." as being gospel on Saturday, but on Sunday, it's not EVEN CLOSE to being true or accepted that way. A team changes during the season.

“I feel like” it’s because standings mean **** in college football. If they’d adapt the NFL playoff bracket and have 10 conference champions and 2 at-larges, we could combine a rational standings-based system with the irrational ranking system. “I feel like” it would elevate NCAA football above the NFL...it would be king.

You're not suggesting an actual rational post-season are you? 04-jawdrop

Can't have that, P5 schools want everything decided by a friggin vote.

I watched the first half. Illinois was scoring every drive. We probably have an offense on par with Illinois if not better. Shouldn't have a problem scoring.

I missed the third quarter, but listened to the 4th on the way to Kalamazoo. Not sure if Illinois just started sucking on offense or Eastern stepped up on defense.

Either way, I have us losing that game. Eastern's good this year and we struggle in Ypsilanti; don't see why our offense can't light them up though.

Definitely.

We have BGSU, CMU, and BSU. They're more likely to get to 3-1, but we started 2-1. Who finishes ahead will be determined by who knocks off the good teams.

Both to win out of conference, EMU to win in-conference except when they're playing us, CMU to lose in conference always.
