Rice Volleyball ranked #30 in this past week's poll, receiving 82 votes. With tonight's road win against a quality Arkansas State squad (our third win since the last poll was conducted), the ladies are now 9-0 on the season (6-0 on the road, 6 wins by sweeps, and no match yet extended to 5 sets), including wins against Ole Miss, UCF, Texas State and Loyola Marymount x 2. If we can beat a quality Stephen F. Austin squad tomorrow (they've lost only one match this year and made the NCAA tourney last year), we have a good chance of cracking the Top 25 on Monday. And then our key showdown at home on Tuesday against #3 Texas. If we can simply prove to be competitive with Texas, we should gain that many more Top 25 votes.

And the Owls go down to SFA this afternoon in a hard fought and VERY close contest
So our march to the top 25 comes to a (temporary) pause.
