What UCF needs is (obviously) to be 13-0 when the post-season selections are made.
But after that, they also need for FAU, Stanford, and Pitt to dominate against their conference opponents. If all of that happens... things will be interesting.

We got upgraded to the 3:30 ABC game against Pitt, hopefully Gabriel can keep slinging it and we cane move up.

So all we need to do is go undefeated for another 15 straight seasons to get into the playoffs. Seems fair.

Well, it is more me. My friends tell me I have warped sense of humor put can paint such a vivid picture that they get me.

In a nutshell, i hope UCF effs the cartel and gets to the playoffs!

Not even the highest ranked team in Florida. Might as well written this about App State. 07-coffee3

Even more we need the AAC teams to win as many as possible in OOC. Then have the AAC championship game to be against someone in the top 20.

3 things keep UCF out of playoffs last yr

McKenzie getting hurt
MD dropping 2PT conversion vs OSU
Okla winning useless CCG

This yr, need Pac, B-12, ND with 2 loses
UCF certainly layed the ground work
UCF & Boise undefeated might make it
Temple goes undefeated, I don't know

Not being A5 will keep UCF out of the so called playoffs, end of story.

ESPN hype machine is rolling for the UCF vs Stanford matchup

ESPN’s predictor gives UCF a 6% chance to make the playoffs... but it’s the best odds we have received... so you’re saying there’s a chance!

The requirements should be obvious but I’ll list them
1. Go Undefeated and win the AAC championship
2. Defeat teams with style points, we need to blow out every opponent
3. Chaos in the A5. Multiple loss champions in A5 leagues

Even with all that, it’s still about a 30% shot to get selected

Wow the ESPN hype machine really knows how to encourage the non-A5 programs....

This article really gives us hope.....

Or... it’s complete BS

It’s 100% BS they are never inviting anyone else to the cartel party.

This article is a complete joke.

We could blow out everyone on the schedule and it doesn’t matter. If we embarrass Stanford and Pitt and let’s even say a miracle happens and they win the PAC and ACC titles respectively. We would still be sitting on the outside watching 2 SEC teams fight for the CFP title. Playoff?! UCF has no shot at the playoffs in the current system.

At best we get the NY6 bowl against the 5th best A5 program.

Good luck.

However, when the season starts with Clemson and Alabama with ESSENTIALLY automatic bids in the 4 team playoff, there is no real chance for 'G5' teams. Heck....there is not really a chance for most P5 teams. Right?

This year barring the unusual, Clemson, Alabama and Oklahoma look like locks based on their upcoming schedules. That leaves one spot for everyone else which could easily be Ohio State or Georgia even if they lose of the SEC championship game.

I mean, Stanford sadly isn't ranked (though could still get better), Cincy and Houston going to be a long climb to get ranked (not likely before we play either). Memphis in the CCG is the first potential to play a ranked team this yr. Sadly our schedule is starting to look more and more like 2017 and 2018, despite the fact it should've been better than either yr.

With UCF being the only ranked team in the American you would need Temple to win out with only a loss to UCF and Memphis/Navy win out and lose to UCF in the Championship. Even then you would need chaos to have a glimmer of hope.
The SEC west will beat each other up this year and then hope UGA loses somewhere down the line and have Texas beat OU

No.

And it's not your fault.

But still, no.

Well it's 9% now, highest of any G5/P6 team ever and ahead of the Pac-10 leader but hey this is the AAC so go ahead and get snarky.

He’s not wrong. The cfp is a popularity contest and nothing else. Bama didn’t even win its division and still played in the cfp. They will never let us in.

Well, in this case it wouldn't be about money keeping UCF out......... because if UCF snuck in, I can totally see the committee having Alabama jump Clemson for the #1 slot just to get a Alabama UCF semifinal. In fact, I would think that this particular semifinal game would be the highest rated in the history of CFP semifinal games.

You know it. That would be a ratings winner.
