Green, Gaines, Knox and Gammage were great in the 1st half. And Green and Gaines had over all good game.
We had at least 3 drops that would have each went for 35 yard gains that were put right on the money and one of those for a TD, just dropped. Those 3 get completed and this game isn't in need of a last drive effort to seal the game.
Green was clutch in the last drive. His last 3 runs were backbreakers and it didn't look like Ohio had an answer for him at all then.
A lot of people a few years ago complained for a real long time about how the staff and Doc didn't know what they were doing when they converted Xavier Gaines from a QB to a TE. I think you are now seeing what they envisioned with him. A guy that just has a crazy skill set that can line up anywhere and be dynamic.

And the beauty of it is that we still have Levias at the TE slot! Bahahahahaha. Zoned, do you think X=Rockhead II? Is that where this is going? If so, I am getting my popcorn ready!

Gaines isn't a Devin Johnson, much different skillset. Gaines is just a hybrid athlete that can play multiple positions and play them well. Last night he lined up at TE, WR, RB, QB and FB.
He is probably what Michael Vick should have been in college. Ive often said if I was an NFL GM, I would have picked Vick in the draft but he wouldn't have been a QB. He would have been what ever I needed extra on the field. Gaines and Vick have about the same skillset.
On defense last night Pitts made a few plays that weren't talked about because he wasn't involved in the actual tackle. On one play he got on the outside and forced their RB back in to the defenses teeth and was stopped for a 1 yard loss. If he doesn't do that he gets 7-10 yards and a 1st down.
Hopefully the bye week gets everyone healthy. We have some key players out. Even if healthy come the Cincy game I could see Doc and the staff holding Obi Obiolo out until the MTSU game.
