Because it is a positive story.

My wife and I had to cancel a beach vacation when she developed an ear problem and could not fly so we had the time off and wanted to do something other than sit at the house, so we went to Memphis, me of all people forgetting its Liberty Bowl time, so we encountered BYU and Tulane fans every place we went. Liked 'em all.

I remember sitting at one bar on Beale and seven kids wearing BYU Band clothing walked and sat down, ordered a Sprite and the seven of them split it. I leaned over told my wife that LaVell Edwards had once said bowl games hated BYU because the fans arrived with a copy of the 10 Commandments and a $20 bill and wouldn't break either of them.

But the entire time was a blast. The BYU fans were great, the Tulane fans were over the moon having had such a year, AState's fans were similar in Mobile when we broke our bowl drought.

Waiting in line at Graceland wife mentions her glasses are getting loose and older guy in BYU coat asks if he can take a look, pulls out a freaking eye glass repair kit like you used to see at every drug store and fixed them for her. Based on the way his wife looked at him I suspect he was thrilled to finally have justification for carrying that kit.

Fat boy alert to anyone traveling to Utah. Any town of any size has more than one good place to get ice cream. This fat boy heartily approves.

The BYU fans at the game at Notre Dame in 2012 were great.

Very classy fans.

That was our 12-0 year. First, last, and only football championship in C-USA.

BYU has a creamery on campus. Cal fans who went to the game in Provo last year reported that BYU folks went through the visiting fans' section handing out ice cream.

I take it Nick Emery wasn't there.
