Andy Katz Big East Predictions
Katz posted his Big East Predictions yesterday. I re-posted below.

Player of the Year - Myles Powell (Seton Hall); Markus Howard (Marquette) as #2
Freshman of the Year - Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (Villanova)
Most Underrated - Kamar Baldwin (Butler)
Top 5 Impactful Non-Conference Games:
- Kansas/Villanova
- Oregon/Seton Hall
- Villanova/Ohio State
- Marquette/Wisconsin
- Syracuse/Georgetown

Bold prediction - 6/10 teams in the NCAA Tournament (chance at seven), with Seton Hall as a possible #1 Seed.

the problem i see with Seton Hall is their schedule is absolutely brutal. Michigan St, Oregon, Gonzaga, another Battle 4 Atlantis game, Iowa St, Rutgers, and Maryland. They could easily get 4 OOC losses. 8-9 loss teams don't get 1 seeds- only have seen 3 7 loss teams since 2011 get 1 seeds even.

last 3 years Seton Hall is 2-1 with Rutgers with all 3 games being close. The game is at Rutgers- where they lost last time. And that's the EASIEST of the 7 games.

RE: Andy Katz Big East Predictions
Well, that makes perfect sense as to why Katz thought they could be a #1 seed. if they get through that gauntlet with a number of wins, and finish at the top of the Big East, then there's no way they wouldn't be considered a top-seeded team.

Oh for sure, if they can survive and finish something like 27-7, 1 seed is very possible. But how realistic is that?

Yeah, he wasn't guaranteeing it haha. He just said it was possible (i.e. bold prediction).

RE: Andy Katz Big East Predictions
I just think everything would have to go Seton Hall's way perfectly just about to get a 1 seed.... Could it happen? Sure.

of course 1 thing- Atlantis could be really interesting for them.....

Oregon 1st round.... Win and get Gonzaga, followed by Michigan/Iowa St/UNC/Alabama.
but lose, and it's Southern Miss and then one of those 4 teams

If they get Southern Miss and then say Alabama- that lowers the SOS pretty good. Still would have Michigan St, Iowa St, and Maryland- but looking- only neutral/road Q1 win chance would become that Iowa St game(unless Rutgers was top 75).

true. Also think it's interesting that another of his bold predictions is 6 getting in from the Big East.

Well if you want/deserve a #1 seed, you usually need a strong schedule. Can't win if you don't play!

Yea, less bold. He also admits it might be seven in the video, so clearly he hedged there

RE: Andy Katz Big East Predictions
so I saw his "official" bracket....

Nova 4 Indy
Marq 7 Indy
Xav 4 Hou
Prv 7 Hou
Geo 5 NYC
SH 2 NYC

even though only 6 teams- I'd take this 1000% more than Lunardi's bracket, even with Lunardi giving league 7 teams.
