Screw it. I say we install overhead rigging that holds horizontal seats like the Superman roller coaster. Then you can watch the game FROM DIRECTLY OVERHEAD!!!

You know, I would actually pay good money to watch a game suspended like that from a skycam rig.

Lets take up some contributions and rent the Goodyear Blimp for the opening game. 04-cheers

Cool. I guess for the unforseeable future the Magic City Classic will stay at Legion Field.

Great day for UAB Football!!!

This project is going to propel UAB football to new heights. The team has been great and far exceeded expectations since the Return, but this is the type of major investment in the program that can keep Coach Clark here and position us for a better conference - we'll have some of the best G5 football facilities in the nation.

My vision is by the mid 2020s UAB is in the American Conference, a top G5 team (similar level to UCF, Boise, Houston, etc), and consistently ranked in the top 25.

I think the pictures of new stadium are beautiful. I do have one question about expansion capability looking at the pictures. Why would you build the press box and suites as a separate structure versus a club level as part of main structure? I would assume costs. This limits the ability to expand on the press box side in the future.

Any expansion of seats would almost certainly include an expansion of club/suites. so think of the existing press box/suite building getting wings with an upper deck sitting on top of them leading to one or both end zones being filled in with a new club area and a larger contingent of suites. Once that happens the existing press box is just part of what is a giant sound reflecting wall keeping the stadium loud and rocking
