We're not "worrying"... Our worst football member left all on their own 04-rock04-cheers02-13-banana and now the AAC is in great position to strengthen with nearly anyone.

Basically any G4 on the east coast would give their left nut to join the AAC. I bet plenty from the MWC too. Just not a great fit with geography. The 12th team would need to bring something major to the table.

Where BYU helps AAC is atten, they travel very well.
Would help with bowl takes
Byu doesn't get 5mil a year. I didn't know that they have completed a new contract, signed sealed and delivered yet. However if they have I'll gladly eat crow. 07-coffee3

I agree with you except the part of giving away a left nut. But the AAC is also in a Catch 22. Long term stability is an issue because as you stated, any AAC school would give their left nut to join a P5 conference. Would the AAC continue to make 6 to 7 mil per school if a couple of AAC bellcows left for the P5?

Most of you already feel no one except BYU and maybe Boise warrants an AAC invite. So who do you invite to continue to make 6 to 7 mil per school if the most successful AAC programs are snatched up?

No American school is moving to a P5 conference. The circle jerk fans from UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis and Houston need to face reality- you are stuck here with the rest of us. You ain’t special. The best shot was two years ago and the B12 had zero intention in inviting anyone.

AAC is P6... That is why no one will be added for the forcible future and will remain at 11 members...

IF you really stop and think about the events that have taken place since 2010...

BYU, BS-u, AF, and Army have all had an open invitation:

- BS-u Burned the bridge beyond repair... They should never be mentioned on this board, they don't deserve any recognition.

- BYU basically tried to get the same sweetheart deal that BS-u was turned down for and got it from the MW instead and withdrew from the BIG EAST... BYU believes that being an Independent is better for them... Another bridge burned IMO..

- AFA no, they can compete better than Amy for now but might not be able to keep up in the long run.

- Army would be nice for the potential NYC market and national following, great game day experience at West Point, been there many times, and will continue to go there... Don't think they will be able to keep pace in the AAC... Yeah Michigan (2019), Oklahoma and Houston (2018).

Take out those games and they really don't have a tough schedule - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_Black...s_football

Football only, if it ever come to that, San Diego State University. (But I don't see this happening either)
- They never said said no to the BIG EAST, they left after the BIG EAST changed direction.
- Geography is not an issue when it comes to football and in football there is no need for travel partners.

I want you to personally know I don’t care, and I stopped reading after you said “AAC is P6”.

Thanks for all your effort though. Hopefully it didn’t take too much time out of your day.

RE: Boise St and BYU
I honestly think we are missing the boat by not adding the western teams now. Add BYU, Boise, CSU, all sports and Army and Air Force Football only. No divisions and 8 conference games. Two highest rated teams in the CFP poll play for the title. The selling point for the academies and BYU is they get 4 non conference games to try and maintain a national scedule. In addition, for BYU, they still have something big to play for if they drop a game. Army v Navy can maintain it's traditional game day and since the championship game participants are determined by the poll, standings won't matter.

The best part is that by adding BYU and Boise, you are adding ESPN "sweethearts" as they love putting those teams on the deuce for the late Saturday games. Money wise, our contract will remain the same and we will be in an even better spot when it comes time to renegotiating the deal in 8 years.

Divisions in basketball

BYU
Boise
CSU
Wichita
Tulsa
SMU
Houston

Tulane
Memphis
Cinci
Temple
UCF
USF
VCU/Dayton
