USF up to #104 in latest US News Rankings
This is great news!

Just four years ago, USF was #171 in the US News rankings. We are rising by leaps and bounds!

Congratulations to the Faculty and Students, and yes, Adminstrators, who have helped make this progress happen.

The miracle of not adding seats to a school while at the same time the population in the state is booming

No question, there is a macro-effect going on here. That's evidenced by the fact that Florida and FSU, and maybe even UCF have seen their rankings rise as well.

I mean, FSU is now ranked #57, an eye-popping rank for a school that historically was in triple-digits.

Nevertheless, our school has really invested in faculty and facilities, we've done a really top-notch job of that since the turn of the millennium. When I visit the campus today, I am blown away by all the programs and facilities that students have access to, compared to what I had in the 80s and early 90s. The campus is almost unrecognizable.

Same deal with our campus. Used to have a rep now it’s beautiful. Really cool to see.

Welcome to the club. I think SC has been hanging around in the same 103-106 range with the same schools for like ten years.

It helps FSU to have a med school that adds research dollars. Still, there is room for improvement in Tallahassee. Perhaps the engineering school can move from being shared with FAMU to being solely controlled by FSU.

I would bet that partnering with an HBCU earns the FSU engineering department diversity value, maybe not in USNWR but in funding and the like.

USF is being helped by our med school as well. We don't have a law school, but those don't bring in nearly the same money. Our business school has also improved dramatically in forging lucrative ties with the Tampa business community.

Money does matter, there's no doubt about it.

It does satisfy the folks up on the hill downtown.
