RE: Ladd Stadium - Mobile (clear bag & water policy)
I remember that bowl game, rained so hard thru out the game that at times you could hardly see across the field, poured the entire game, and what made it worse was we lost the damn game. Remember coming home to ice on the streets. My brother in law and I drove down to FEF to see our basketball Tigers get beat by, if I remember correctly, Providence (Joey Dorseys freshman year) in front of a crowd of about 2500 fans.

Remember that after the game, the sidewalks of Mobile were all rolled up and everything was closed. Had to get dinner at a hamburger place inside a truck stop near the hotel that we were staying in. That was the last bowl game I traveled to with the Tigers.

It'll be hot as blue blazes - and very humid, to boot. Be prepared - lots of sunscreen and water, sunglasses, wide-brim hat, hand-held fan, etc.

We played Miss State a few years ago and it was a total disaster with the heat and stadium ran out of cold water. Cold beer will be available.

Make sure to eat a lot before the game as concessions are pretty terrible and lines are long. Other than that the stadium isn't pretty but it's fine for watching a game. There's nothing near the stadium so if you plan on tailgating, make sure you buy all supplies before heading to the stadium. Lots of friendly Jag tailgaters so stop by and say hello

Thank you for the information. I wish I could attend the cool pep rally on the "Alabama" and go to the game, but events keep me at home.

On September 13, 2014 South Alabama hosted Mississippi State at Ladd Stadium. The game was played at 3:00 PM and much like it will be tomorrow it was quite hot. The game was a sellout and Ladd Stadium couldn't handle the demand for water. USA had no control over the policy, but was able to use that event to urge the Ladd Board of Directors to allow fans to bring in their own water. They have since taken that away, but with the temps tomorrow they are once again allowing each fan to bring in 2 bottles of water in a small soft cooler.

There will also be cooling stations set up with free sunscreen available, should you forget. If you're sitting on the Memphis side you'll have it worse as you'll be facing the sun as it descends. Just be sure to protect yourselves!

Real classy of you to trash the stadium right after one of their fans takes the time to be helpful to Tiger fans who might be attending. A simple thank you to that person might have been appropriate.

Exactly right

I don't think you are to find many South fans argue with you here. We are counting the games/days until we are in our new stadium.

Don't mind him. He has tourettes of the fingers.

And the attitude of an angry black woman.

Always about race with some of you.

Ehhh. Just ignore them... they’ve led such sheltered lives, I doubt they’ve ever seen an angry woman from India or Germany or Florida or Texas or Tibet... or even a trailer park tweeker.

Some folks need a heavy dose of retail! Accents, Countries of Origin, sexual preferences, genders, ages and colors of skin fade into the background. For realz.
