Noon is a rather normal Saturday kick off time. Big Ten, Big East, and MAC we’re using Noon kickoffs with regional and national TV since the 1990’s.

FOX is bringing back the "importance" of Noon games with their TV broadcasts this year.

I wonder if this noon start has something to do with tv? Clearly, there is as a rule better attendance later in the day in the warm weather.

Almost every game time has something to do with TV. I believe the only ones we have any say over are like the IAA games that in the past were broadcast locally and ESPN3 only.

Have a feeling there were will be some empty seats in the stands for this one. Bad time-- a lot of students won't be up and many families with other events going on at same time. I think last week's drubbing will also keep the casuals away. Miami fans won't travel.

I never understand why people think Noon kicks are so hard for students. We never missed a Noon kick...It just meant we started drinking earlier. Noon Kicks were great... wake up early and drink, go to the game, Nap, Go out at night.
Night Games can be a tougher sell for students, especially the entire game. By halftime, the parties are starting, and Bars will have girls... so students leave.

Maybe because the evidence shows we have better student turnout at night.
I am in the minority on this, but I am more of a 3:30 kickoff guy myself-- especially for a game like this one. If people have other obligations that day they are usually done, and it allows time for people to go out after the game if they want.

I agree 3:30/4:00 games are probably my favorite time slot as well. Not so early that you have to do a tailgate of kegs and eggs but also not so late that you can't schedule other night plans. The best IMO are a variety throughout the year which we have a good amount of it seems like. A few noons, a few Nipp at Nights, etc.
