Can you imagine if defenders would have had to put 1 or 2 more players in the box against Ferguson or if they didn't have to put so many in the box against White?

In an apples to apples comparison, White would not have come close to putting up the same number of points as Ferguson, and Ferguson would have put up bigger numbers than White. The difference is exponential.

Both 1st years for Riley and Brady
2016: Memphis 38.8 ppg
2018: Memphis 42.9 ppg

Both 1st years rushing for Riley and Brady
2016: 2,071 yards, 4.3 per carry, 23 touchdowns
2018: 3,919 yards, 6.4 per carry, 48 touchdowns

We have two posters here who are claiming that White is a superstar at handing off and there is no way Henderson would have had all those yards if Ferguson was the quarterback.

Did White boff your old lady or something? Hard to comprehend your obsessed hatred for the guy.

He is top 10 in several CAREER stats for the Tigers after just 16 games. If he remains three years he will be top 2 or maybe even the top QB in Memphis history in a number of these areas.

His terrible season last year was only the 4th best in single-season passing yards in Memphis history, Number 4 in single-season passing TDs in Memphis history. 4th in TDs in a single game(TWICE).

What the F does this guy have to do in order for you to accept him?

Why are you trying to prove that Memphis has had a lot of bad qbs over the years? We all know that already.

First year as Tiger QB
Lynch 9 TDs 10 Ints Rating 110.4
Ferguson 32 TDs 10 Ints Rating 152.6
White 26 TDs 9 Ints Rating 150.7

There are just lots of flaws in your points. It is a foolish game to compare QBs from different eras based strictly on their stats. The game changes, offenses change, emphasis on running vs. passing changes and so on. I always cringe a bit when people talk about the "greatest player of all time" in basketball and then start comparing the stats of Jordan vs. Lebron vs. Wilt. It is simply impossible to say what the players would have done if you switched them around into each others era. Jordan might score 40 game in the current NBA. But Lebron is a freak of nature against current NBA players, can you imagine him in the 50s or 60s? Same with White. In Tommy West's offense or Larry Porter's offense, Brady White most likely would not be anywhere near having the 4th best passing season in Tiger history.

And then comparing the first year of Lynch vs. Ferguson vs. White at just the stat level is again a completely disingenuous argument for anyone trying to have a "rational" conversation about this. Team situations (especially for Lynch) have massive differences. White is definitely significantly older than Lynch was and probably older than Riley. Riley took a year off and then played JUCO and then came to Memphis as opposed to White who spent 2 or 3 years at ASU before coming here. Again, the circumstances are just so wildly different it is silly to just post stats as if to suggest that is the end all be all entire story. Swap Brady White for Paxton Lynch and does Brady White's first year look anything like the one last year?

I would hardly call a 6 year period different eras. We are talking about 2013-2019. Not the 60s vs the 80s vs the 2000s. Our offensive scheme has been fairly similar throughout the time frame. Our redshirt Seniors who came in as freshmen have played with all three QBs.

In my opinion, Karam had a better season in 2012 than White did last year, and if you replace him with White there is ZERO chance that he duplicates these numbers. Am I saying that Karam was better than White? Not necessarily, but I'm not saying he isn't. I think Hankins was a better quarterback than White.

Jacob Karam
176-274
64.2%
1,895 yards
6.9 yards per attempt
14 touchdowns
3 interceptions
23 sacks

Karam was extremely mobile but was still sacked 23 times. White was sacked 24 times last year. He had a receiving corps of Rucker, Malone, Cross, and Jones, and the team rushed for 1,821 yards for the season averaging 3.7 yards per carry.

Most of us know what we are watching. You can take your stats and...

At least tigernole tries to back up his stupidities with weird stuff, like saying White being responsible for Henderson gaining all those yards; I'll give him that.

All you do is cry like a little baby.
