Yes, there are so many ways to look at things.
I use real time RPI for strength of schedule. Not sure if anybody else uses this?

Also, I know there are a lot of crap games in the early season. The spread is a good measuring stick for these games. I dont think this is ever talked about on here? There is a reason for the spread, it levels the playing field and if you're covering, things are good!?!
I also know we are 2 weeks in and it's still real early to actually know all pretenders and contenders.

I forgot to also mention that ESPN drives this bus called college football. They are a high paying partner of certain conferences and go out their way to protect them. I hate it, but like anything, it's all about the cash.

This tops the time he had Harvard as a top 40 or so team in football at the end of the year.

RE: Georgia ranked #46 per Sagarin
Computers mean nothing as of now, as there are too few data points to make meaningful comparisons. Start paying attention to them around week six.
Then again, that's true of human polls too. Only two games have been played so we don't know a lot, everyone is guessing.
So just relax and enjoy them for what they are for - entertainment value.
BTW, since FSU obviously isn't much good (LOL), this must be motivated by your anger at seeing LSU ranked behind Georgia? If so, that's pretty dumb, because Sagarin has LSU at #5 whereas the polls have them at #4, so the polls are actually friendlier to LSU than Sagarin, LOL.

I always find it funny when people quote Sagarin numbers in 2019. It's like finding someone who still hangs out at Spencer's Gifts.

Sagarin would be the first person to tell us not to pay any attention to his rankings at this stage of the season. He makes it very clear that they only start to become meaningful after five weeks, and even then they will become more and more meaningful the further the season progresses. He makes no claim that they are as meaningful as they could be by the end of the season. They would continue to get more meaningful if only teams didn't stop playing in January.
