They went after Russell Wilson hard, but he wasn’t really available. It’s disappointing but not surprising. Dalton is better than Trubisky, but uninspiring. Hopefully, they find the future QB in the draft.

Spoiler, they won’t

You didn’t like the Cutlet , he had a few good years in Chi Town. I don’t mind Andy, he okayed decent last year but had a ton of weapons in Dallas

As a Bills fan, I can understand and appreciate such a list. At least you all didn’t ever experience Nathan Peterman.

The frustrating part is that there isn't any reason to believe it will get better. I really appreciate the history of the NFL and value the role that Halas played. I also appreciate how passionate Virginia McCaskey is about her dad's team, but there is no excuse for this franchise to be so mediocre. How many GMs in the league would still be left to draft a QB when their previous efforts to address the most important position netted this list?

Mike Glennon
Mitchell Trubisky
Chase Daniels
Nick Foles
Andy Dalton

Dalton is the best on the list and his signing alone isn't reason for such a strong emotional reaction from Bears' fans, but we've wasted an elite defense with an incompetent offense, and we've exhausted draft capital and are against the cap to boot.

RE: 2019-2020 NFL Regular Season
Hope the best for ya Bricks with Dalton! He was hit and miss for my Cowboys. You can blame our offensive line at the end of the year as well and our relative lack of a running game (also a part of our problem). Andy will do fine if you give him enough protection. The problem with Andy is that he will throw a terrible pass at times.

I'm glad that we have Dak back hopefully. We need his mobility in the pocket to get our tremendous receiving group the ball. Until we can run downhill again, it will still be a shootout. My hope is that the defense is finally getting it's act together. With Dak, it's not as big of a concern with the wideouts but we need to get some stops without selling out.

Looking forward to tomorrow's draft. I think the Jags and Jets should feel good about the QBs they're going to end up with. The real intrigue begins at #3 and which direction SF is going to go. If I were a betting man, I'd say Lance, but there are a lot of rumors that they like Jones.

Sure does seem like they want Jones doesn't it? Big question is if they truly are going QB, what do they do with Jimmy G?

You see the Panthers unloaded Teddy?

I had seen the rumor of Teddy to Denver in recent days, but hadn't seen it go through today. I actually like Lock; not sure he's their answer, but I don't seem Teddy beating him for the starting job.

Yep, that happened today, Panthers are paying 7 of his 10 million for him to play elsewhere next year

Trading up to 3 for Mac is crazy to me, but I don't buy that they're still evaluating 5 guys for the pick. You don't trade the haul they traded unless you have your guy identified. I'm not sure what they do with Jimmy; send him back to New England I suppose.

I am really hoping that the rumors of Fields' stock plummeting are true. Would be nice for Chicago to have a chance to grab him at 20.

That is a narrative for sure. Any recent examples of Bama producing a successful QB?

Recently other than Tua who has shown flashes no. Both lists are pretty unimpressive. It’s more than narrative when you look at the lists. Both of them could go either way, I like Mac’s fit in NE system

No, it's a lazy narrative that has zero value evaluating this specific player. Other than Haskins, you're not even comparing him to other QBs that played for the same coach.

Of course there is risk in drafting a QB. It is freaking hard to do, so of course Fields could fail, but it will have absolutely nothing to do with coming from Columbus. Should teams next year pass on Sam Howell because Trubisky sucked?

It's okay to admit that you're not an expert at evaluating the position. There are loads of people paid to do this that miss on this position frequently.

All I'm saying is that the lists are unimpressive, take a look for yourself. That's not narrative. They liked Fields and traded up to get their guy, good for them. The last time they traded up to get a QB it didn't work out , maybe this time will work out better. If you had to guess which of the top 5 QBs will a bust, who is it? We both know there is likely to be 1.
