Before today our D was 4th in total yards. Offense was 17th. Haven't seen an update.

Panthers are now 8th in team defense, 15th in team offense and 11th in points per game. And C Mac is 1st in rushing yards.
C Mac is a stud. No if ands or buts about it. They could pile up some wins, their schedule is pretty weak looking at it. Can they get by the Tampa juggernaut they lost too in the first game next week? Sorry, just don't think they are that good. I know that goes against popular opinion here.

I think they're right about middle of the pack as of now. I can definitely understand why you think they're bad. They could've easily lost the last two games, but they've made plays when they had to. There's just something about the vibe of the team that I like since Kyle Allen took over. They play freely and really look to be having fun out there. They have a favorable schedule coming up and if Trai Turner and Donte Jackson come back, I think they have decent shot at making the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes the other way, but we shall see.
They definitely could make the playoffs, Falcons have been terrible. Saints look like the only other formidable team in the division. I don't necessarily think they are bad, i just don't think they are that good. I do agree though, offense has looked better with Allen. If i were a Panthers fan i'd be worried about over usage(and subsequent beating he's taking) of C mac. Dude has basically been a 1 man show.
What does the team do when Cam says he's ready?

Trust me, Panthers fans are extremely worried about CMCs usage. Bonnafon made some big plays down the stretch yesterday, but I don't see him more than just a guy to go out there when CMC needs a breather. Samuel is a guy I would like to see more involved in the run game, though they have given him some chances. The Cam situation is going to be interesting. Allen has looked serviceable but his ball security problems are an issue and he got bailed out by his receivers quite a bit yesterday. However, you can't take him out as long as he's winning football games. I do think we'll see Cam Newton again (Week 10 or 11 would be my guess), whether that ends up being a good thing or not... I can't say...

RE: 2019 NFL Regular Season
Bills are sitting at 4-1 after going to Tennessee and coming out with a W. The defense is as advertised. The offense looked better, with Allen realizing he needs to be a game manager, and less of a cowboy (no pun intended) with slinging the ball around. The offense is decent with a wide range of weapons, and that's with our emerging rookie RB (Devin Singletary) out the last 3 games with a hamstring injury.

Bills are now projected to have a 75% chance of making the playoffs. They're now "buyers" in the trade market.

Obviously, I get excited about all of this well, because it's the Bills. The AFC East still belongs to the Patriots until Belichick and Brady are gone, IMO. But the way the rest of the league is playing, I think the Bills have a legit shot. They're tied for 2nd in the AFC with the Chiefs at 4-1.

So, asking for some objectivity here. Should I temper my expectations or do you think the Bills have a legit shot at the playoffs and maybe even a win or two?

The Bills have an excellent GM and a top 5 defense. I think they're doing a lot of good things there. But you know my opinion on your QB.

I think the Wild Card is very possible for you guys, and maybe you can pull off an upset in the playoffs. But a deep run is not in the cards.

Legit D can you win you a lot of games with even a mediocre offense. Pretty Easy schedule with a lot of very winnable games. Toughest being NE, Dallas, Philly. You know i'm usually a pessimist, but i'd be excited if i were in your boat.

My guess is he'll stumble in here eventually with some spin about how the Cowboys lost a "close" game to a HOF QB and are going to be fine.

LOL.

They got throttled start to finish. This is the exact reason that year in and year out I tell people it's okay to get excited when your team is beating up on garbage teams but wait until you play another talented team, and showcase dominance before going on with the "Super Bowl" talk.

2019 NFL Regular Season
I was worried about the Dallas game after green bay lost to the eagles and the run defense was terrible. Detroit is the next game on Monday night. It would be nice to be 3-0 in the division

Agree, Dallas points were scored in garbage time. also agree about waiting. People are mentioning Pats running the table and that's a bit ridic. They have looked beatable at times almost every team slips up eventually

Yeah. Agree. There's plenty of teams with strong defenses out there and the odds of running the table just aren't there. Sports media lives in the present and they are watching a team that has throttled bad teams that are a combined 1-17 (aside from the Bills who are 4-1). The 4-1 Bills team took them to the wire solely with defense. If the Bills had a prolific offense it would have gone differently. The part of the Patriots game that can't be avoided right now is their stellar defense. However, fitting with my "wait and see" mantra, wait until that defense faces more prolific offenses and let's see where they are.

That's one thing that can be said for the Bills' defense. They faced the Patriots and gave them similar treatment to the rest of the teams they've beaten. IMO, the Patriots look very good but haven't truly been tested just yet.

They did shut down a Healthy solid Pitt offense that had Big Ben in week 1. Aside from that, i agree. they actually have a solid string of tougher games. Browns, Ravens, Eagles, Cowboys, Texans, Chiefs 9-14(by in there). I'd be shocked if they don't lose 1 or 2 of those.

They shut down Pittsburgh. That I agree with. However, Pittsburgh's offense wasn't/isn't anything to brag about. Through five games, their leading rusher is averaging 38 yards per game and has two TDs. Their leading receiver is averaging 66 yards per game and also only has two TDs. Those are atrocious numbers. Roethlisberger was only averaging 179 yds/game, threw one INT and zero TDs.

That offense just isn't good, and it's definitely not close to the offense of the Steelers we've been accustomed to over the years.

He got hurt in the first quarter of the second game. We really didn't get to see what their offense was, or wasn't with a healthy Ben against anyone other than the Pats

Won't be long until Odell is throwing fits on the sidelines again. Mayfield, IMO, is vastly overrated.

That team won't finish better than 8-8.

I was on the edge about Baker, but luckily i did not draft him in any of my leagues
