I have run into some real jack@ss NIU fans - doesn't mean that represents the entire or even the majority of the fanbase. My experience has mostly been mutual respect as both teams have had their streaks in the series. Bottom line is, all teams, at any level, have loud mouths

If you find yourself saying “Toledo fans suck” and “Iowa fans suck” based on traveling to away games, you’re probably a little bit of a douche yourself. You’ll get back what you put out. Save for that 10% of idiots all fan bases have. And all philly fans. Screw all of them.

I honestly don't think the hate is real. Many of us remember a time when we could not beat Toledo including 2003...so there has been a lot of frustration. I would honestly be disappointed if some realignment prevented us from playing every year, and rout for them when it is not against the Huskies best interest.
