Minnesota vs South Dakota St- Minnesota barely won against what a D2 school
MSU vs Tulsa-- MSU wins.. Should win it's an AAC school not ACC/SEC/PAC
Wiscy beat USF- Again AAC school
Rutgers beat UMass.. When was the last time UMass was relevant in football?
Nevada beat Purdue.. A MWC school beat Purdue
Penn State beat the powerhouse known as Idaho
Indiana beat Ball State
Maryland destroyed Howard
OSU beat the Fighting Kiffins who've only had a good season in Kiffin's first year
Illi beat Akron
Nebraska beat USA
Stanford beat Northwestern
Michigan beat MTSU
Iowa over Miami OH

Not a strong argument thus far.. SEC wasn't either, it was Week 1

Week 2
Penn State beat Buffalo after struggling the first half
Maryland destroyed Syracuse
Michigan barely escaped Army
OSU destroyed AAC powerhouse Cincy.. Again AAC
Purdue beat the world class Vandy Commodores
Iowa blanked Rutgers
Wiscy beat CMU.. A MAC school
Colorado beat Nebraska
Illi barely beat UConn.. AAC
Indiana beat EIU, a D2 school
MSU beat another MAC school
Minnesota barely got by Fresno.

This is not looking like an impressive resume.. The SEC isn't better.

lol, the SEC only has probably the 2 most impressive wins of the year in Auburn over Oregon and LSU over Texas. But yeah.... forget that small little detail.
You must've missed the bolded parts.. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but to claim the B1G is the greatest show on turf right now is a little of an understatement... I live down the road from Beaver Stadium.. I drive by it every day on my way to work on campus... I hear what the locals say.. Declaring Big 10 king is premature.

I think the confusion is in your use of idioms. "but to claim the B1G is the greatest show on turf right now is a little of an overstatement" To say it is an understatement is to proclaim them greater than what is being claimed.

RE: The Big 10 is the best conference so far
The only things I think can be fairly said about the conferences so far is:

1) Among the P5, the PAC has been bad. Clearly the worst. After that, it's ambiguous.

2) Among the G5, the MW and the AAC have clearly been better than the other three, which is of course a surprise to nobody because that's the way it always has been.

Other than that, nothing is clear. And even (1) and (2) are only "as of now" and can easily change, as the season has just started.

With the Arizona State win over Michigan State, the Big Ten is 0-3 against the Pac-12. Throw in the Temple victory over Maryland and the EMU victory over Illinois, and it is easy to see that the Big Ten is by far not the best conference.

No, the Big 10 has had a hideous weekend so far. But collectively after week 3, who is better?
I'm willing to put the Big XII at the top if Iowa State wins

ACC is for sure #5, although the Mountain West might be getting close
PAC 12 at #4 with Colorado and Stanford going down to G5 teams

I would say Penn State has no business in the top 15. Struggle against Buffalo, who Liberty is mopping the floor with? And Pitt had the right idea but not the talent. Throw at will. A team with any real defensive talent keeps PSU’s offense scoreless. Oh, Franklin is going to take a beating or two this year. A weak schedule spares them of more.

But ZOMG!!!11! That B1G East though...

Well, besides the fact that they consistently have the best talent in the country, the SEC currently has five schools ranked in the top ten in both the AP and Coaches Poll. The AP poll has Alabama #2, Georgia #3 and LSU #4. At the end of the playoffs in January of 2019, the final polls had four SEC schools in the top 8. No other conference had more than one school in the top 8. Let's not pretend that the Big 12 or Big 10 are better football conferences than the SEC.

TCU looked real good pounding Purdue.

With 3 top-10 finishes in 5 years (and 6 in 11), TCU has done a stellar job providing the state of Texas with a 3rd top flight program.

To counterbalance that, the SEC East is horrifically awful ...

Obviously, it's still early in the season, but I'm thinking my thoughts (from this time last week) of the Big Ten being the top league ... perhaps premature. A mediocre showing (collectively) on Sat.

1. We are looking solely at 2019
2. It is a collection of wins and losses, not just the teams at the top
3. I am looking solely at on-the-field results, no bias

I think Big 10 blew any substanial lead they had this weekend. That said, Penn State and Iowa did win their rivalry games

The SEC, Big XII and Big 10 are all very close right now.

Personally, I think the Big XII won the weekend. Oklahoma, TCU, Kansas State, and Kansas, all winning big on the road. WV beating NC State

The ACC looks very very bad. Take Clemson out, and it doesn't even look like a P5 conference

RE: The Big 10 is the best conference so far
Big 12 slightly ahead of the SEC so far although it is close.

Both have 9 FCS wins. Against D1, Big 12 is 13-5 while SEC is 16-8. Against P5, Big 12 is 6-4 while SEC is 5-4.

Big 10 only has 3 FCS wins (as it chose to schedule MAC, Sun Belt and CUSA teams instead), so it has the best D1 record at 23-7. But 4-5 against P5.

Big 12's wins vs P5- lets see Oregon St, BC, Miss St, NC State, Purdue, UCLA
SEC's wins vs P5- lets see Miami, Duke, Oregon, West Virginia, Texas

2 ranked wins for SEC to 0 for Big 12
2-1 h2h for SEC vs Big 12

My A5 conference comparison has the Big 12 clearly #1, with the SEC and B1G about tied for second.

The PAC has been awful, but incredibly, the ACC even worse.
