Let's address that.

Address it being hot as hell and the game not in question? That's tough to do.

11 am games should be against the law in the summertime south..
People were dropping like flies at the Jags game yesterday

Lighten up, blue hairs. Their band was one the best parts of the game.

Indeed, their band was really good

What that has to do with the other points being made here I have no idea

Playing during plays I believe is against the rules, and playing loudly during our home game spirit squad celebration was rude, show us some respect too, like we did for them during their halftime show

Them being good, like many other bands, is beside the point in this case

HBCU bands come to battle. That's a part of the HBCU Gameday experience. There was no disrespect meant by The Juke.

The band shouldn’t play after the offense breaks the huddle and lines up.
I couldn’t care less if they try and drowned out a band but if they’re trying to create false start penalties or delay of game penalties then its over the line.

Nothing says #TwoAmericas quite like this statement. That rule is followed loosely to say the least at HBCU games. The bands are a part of the HBCU experience. Because it may be different from what you're accustomed to doesn't make it rude.

If there were times that the band shouldn't play then schools will usually send the band director an itinerary during the week just like Memphis did to notify Southern that they'd only have 4 minutes and 15 seconds for half time.

I don't know who you are, or what team you root for, but #TwoAmericas? Are you high? You've answered your own question. And I suppose you ARE correct. There ARE two Americas. One where we actually follow the rules of the game, or we get penalized 15 yards on a dead-ball foul, and one where "we loosely follow the rules." Maybe you ought to ask yourself what kind of example that sets for your students and community... 07-coffee3

Just because they're in our house, doesn't mean they have to change who they are ...

Uh, yes it does. That is exactly what that means. You want to come into OUR house, for OUR money, you follow.... not OUR rules???? NO. The friggin NCAA RULES. Is that so much to ask?

I get the feeling you and some others think this is some kind of race thing. Stop being overly sensitive. I would be making the exact same observation if the same thing happened last week, which it didn't.

The game was heavily scripted.. right down to which band was supposed to be playing during time outs. So if anyone was uncouth is was the Tigers band. because they played even when is was not their turn to play. I have a copy of the house marking script and so did each schools band directors. So why would you pay for a band to come all the way up here and then not even let them PLAY! Not only that, they gave them only 4 mins for halftime when there was plenty of time left to give them at least another 1min and a half.

Every time Southerns band tried to play the House staff jumped on the headsets and told them not too. So of course they were frustrated..

Even when is was Southern's turn to play the tigers band still jumped on the loudspeakers and played...

Old Miss band played damn near the whole game and no one ran in here saying they were uncouth or go back to where they came from.

When they played "It Ain't Over Til It's Over," an absolutely WONDERFUL song that's based on my favorite EWF song ("That's the Way of the World), and they played it all drive, and we scored, that was just beautiful.

No ref is going to flag that. Ever watched a Southern Cal game?

One of my favorite Tiger memories of recent times.

RE: " It Ain't Over" That was clever at the time given they had just run the fumble back to get back to 10. Couldn't find yesterday's video of it but here is the performance in the past.

Just think of all the handwringing here if they have dropped some Lil Wayne yesterday:

Great band.

Now that's a band!

Here what they look like at halftime when actually given enough time to perform. At Georgia 2015. Note the halftime score spell out given they don't know what the score will be in advance. That was cut out yesterday for the crutch race/ shopping cart race or drum-cam I guess?????

I now know the difference between a P5 and a G5 school. The P5 school has the good sense to give The Human Juke Box the entire halftime show.
