Around the MAC and elsewhere...
Looks like only NIU is serious about flying the MAC Jolly Roger.
Kent and Akron are laying eggs.
Ohio isn't impressive.
Army is planting their flag in the UofM end zone. Matter of fact, best UofM today is the one in CollegePark, Md. Doing a number on Syracuse.

Kennesaw State is a great FCS team. Not surprised they're giving Kent all they can handle.
But Fordham up 14-7 at Ball State? Uh...

I was there rooting for Army. If their kicker had just made that 50 yarder...

It was close. I believe it had the distance but a little to the right.

I always root for the MAC, but if there's a MAC school that gets their butts kicked I like that its CMU.

RE: Around the MAC and elsewhere...
The Mountain West Conference has the more wins against P5 teams than any other conference, even the SEC. While it may be a down year for the MAC, and from other MAC schools I'm hearing "The P5/G5 divide is growing larger." That does not appear to be the case.
Just a rough year for the MAC. Performance is cyclical, not permanent.

Agree.
The better G5 teams and conferences fluctuate, ascend and then descend, and the AAC has been up and now the MWC is up.
Yes, folks, rough year for the MAC.

Non-conference early season games present far too small of a sample with relation to conference strength. Last year Akron, yes Akron beat Big Ten West Champion Northwestern in the early season! The MAC always plays P5 programs on the road for the paycheck, subsequently they are playing uphill from the start. The bowls tell the true story as was pointed out by Frank.

RE: Around the MAC and elsewhere...
The bowl games are one game played in the backyard of the Sunbelt or CUSA teams that we're playing. The OOC is 4 games on the road and should count at least as much.
