Apparently the visitors locker room at Darrell Royal lacks air conditioning. Obergon commented earlier that he had talked to La Tech before his LSU team came to Austin and the La Tech coaches were disgusted that the visitors locker room lacked AC. Obergon ended up bringing blowers wit him --- but only so much you can do with blowers, enclosed spaces, 95 degrees at kickoff, and 30 per cent humidity.
And, did anyone notice the location of the Tiger fans? UT sent LSU their block comprising third level nosebleed seats at the very back part of the end zone.
At least UT sprang for the Tiger Band, as sometimes they dont do that for visiting bands.
For what it's worth, CDC has refuted LSU's claim about the air conditioning.
Texas AD Chris Del Conte’s full statement:
“The comment today about lack of air conditioning in our visiting locker room is the first we’ve heard of any issues in that area. We provide one of the best visitor setups available and are proud of the efforts we put forth in hosting our guests. Our facilities staff did not receive any complaints from either Louisiana Tech or LSU, and we’ve confirmed that our air conditioning in the visiting locker room is in good working order.”

But note that the statement does not explicitly deny that it may not have been operating for either La Tech and/or for LSU. The statement does not refute either of those situations.
It does do a very good job of making one think it is a direct refutation. But it doesnt.
It may very well be true that this is the first they heard of it.
And it may very well be they provide one of the best visitor setups available.
And it may very well be that the AC *is* (note the tense) in good working order.
But, none of those refute Obergon in the slightest when one reads them carefully.

That statement was well crafted by a lawyer. Everything in it could be true and it still doesn’t refute LSU’s claim that the AC wasn’t working for them on Saturday night.

Those do a great job of refuting the allegation. The initial statements waffled on it when read carefully.

Well, we scheduled the wrong ACC team.
Wake Forest 21, UNC 0 halfway through the 2nd quarter.

North Carolina has beaten South Carolina and Miami already so I'm not sure they're pushovers either.
Newman was an impressive QB. He looks to me like he could be in the NFL if he keeps developing. I think they were a good lead-in to Ehlinger and the Longhorns passing game. Newman and his receivers made the plays but our guys were in position to make plays. Hopefully we'll see the same tomorrow night.

At the half Wake has 304 yards....UNC has71 yards.

UNC coming back to make it a game. Down 6 with the ball but only a minute to play.
BTW this is a non-conference game in a very odd scheduling move. Apparently even though the two teams are 80 miles apart and in the same conference, they haven't played each other in 7 years. So they scheduled this game and some others in the future as non-conference games.
ETA - Wake holds onto win 24-18.

Kansas up 41-24 over BC with 10 mins to go. BC was a 19.5 favorite.

In addition, LA Tech coach denied stating the AC did not work. All this to cover up LSU "cramping" during UT drives

Final was 48-24, 43.5 points from spread. Hopefully a 32-point underdog team can pull off something similar tommorow.

Real good game. UH is loaded with talent on offense. Their QB is a beast. WashState even more loaded.
Meanwhile, turns out Wake is a pretty good team, sitting at 3-0

The inability to stop the run late cost UH at a chance to win. WSU ran the ball 12 years times for under 50 yards before their final possession but was able to get two rushing first downs to help run out the clock.
King did his damage mostly running the ball while WSU QB was 36-48 for 440. 11 different receivers caught passes for WSU.

La Tech wants another big payday or two in the future, and they probably remember what happened to UH with the temporary stands debacle. They know what side their bread is buttered on.

They're more likely to get bigger paydays from LSU in the future than from Texas. So I'm not sure that theory holds true. But maybe they're just trying to be honest?

Maybe. They'd probably like big paydays from either, and Texas is the one that historically been vindictive. I like Chris--a lot--and I hope he puts an end to that kind of historic behavior by UT, but it is not going to be easy.
It's really kind of a stupid issue that has gotten far more life than it deserves. Teams have been doctoring visiting dressing rooms forever.
