Locks of the Week: Clemson > TAMU; Texas > LSU
Alright, my two locks of the week are in the biggest games of the week:
1) Clemson will beat TAMU, and badly.
Why? Clemson has had to listen all week about how close last year's game was, how the TAMU quarterback threw for 500 yards against all those NFL-bound defensive linemen, and a bunch of other crap. But this game is at Clemson, and Dabo really likes to beat SEC teams. Clemson motivation will be sky-high, and they are just better.
Clemson 47 .... TAMU 17
2) Texas will beat LSU in a close game.
Why? Because the last few years, Texas has shown a remarkable ability to play to the level of the competition. For example, the last two years they are 0-2 against Maryland of all schools, but during those same two years have wins over Oklahoma and Georgia. They also lost to PAC 12 champ USC by 3 points on the road.
Texas will again rise to the occasion, and because the game is at home ...
Texas 23 ....... LSU 19

Most interested in Army/Michigan and Cincy/OSU and think one of the two will turn out an instant classic. Just wish one was in the morning and one was at night so I could drive to both! UC/OSU & EMU/UK is a good consolation.

I expect LSU to smoke Texas.

I wouldn’t sleep on A&M. If Clemson loses to them at home it will do serious damage to the Acc’s playoff chances.

I totally agree
A&M might be dangerous this year, and surprise someone, but it ain't Clemson

24-3 Clemson in the 4th
Why did people think A&M would compete in this game?
So many factors were in Clemson's favor

I think it had more to do with TAMU giving Clemson their toughest challenge in the regular season last year.

Meh.
Like last week we played a C level game and win. We aren't the team of the past few years so far, but as a fan who lived through the 90's and 00's I'll take it.

Because ESPN hyped it to get ratings for ABC. Clemson had the advantage at several positions but the hype was around the QB's. A&M's looked dazed, gave away 10 points, and generally played poorly. That said, Clemson's linebackers had a lot to do with it.
L.S.U.'s defense was on the field way too long but mostly because their offense was scoring quickly in the 2nd half. It was like watching fast break football. The UT QB however is what kept them in the game along with that huge receiver.
Both games were hyped heavily and I'm sure ABC gleaned some great ratings. But the game of the day for me was Army coming up just short of beating Michigan. Pure hustle! It's sad that 1 mistake by the Army QB cost them the chance to win in regulation. But the kid otherwise played a great game.

It's your team so I'll defer to your opinion on which team was the tougher challenge last year. Nevertheless the point remains that last years game came down to the wire so I think the networks wanted to push that. Kind of doesnt matter now though given how one sided the game was. Congrats on the win, yall looked dominant.
