We’ll see. Southern plays keep away option offense like Navy. You’ve seen 1 half of football so far and I wouldn’t say our offense has looked suspect in this game.

So you're saying Memphis is not sto]ping an option offense well?
Interesting....tell me more

Sorry for the bad news, but Southern did nothing offensively in the 2nd half. Not sure about Navy’s defense, but the whole possession thing doesn’t work unless you can score on most possessions and stop the other team. SU couldn’t do that.

LOL. Since he made a declaration on our D based on one half, I wonder what he says about the second half, since they scored exactly ZERO on our D in the second half? Only score was a strip of our QB and 73 yard return by their D.

Final 55-24. Good enough, lol. And we played the 2nd team QB and the 3rd team O and D in the 4th Q.

Second team QB, Adair, was sharp.

Southern dominated ToP b/c we kept scoring in 2 minutes or less, several drives.

Kneeled at the end inside their 5. Nice warmup game early in the season.

Yup, just like P5's shouldn't play G5's.

I don't like anyone playing FCS, but especially G5's, because the bottom G5 teams are just like playing FCS teams to begin with.

RE: ***Official Memphis vs Southern Game Thread*** (9/7)
I was thrilled to see the downfield passing option. Magnifico is a great option. Not sure why we didn't utilize more last week against Ole Miss...maybe they anticipated a traditional hardcore SEC D, so they schemed conservatively, accordingly.

I don't know if it's lack of confidence in our Kicker, confidence in our Offense, or the size of Norvell's pair, but if we march that ball past the 50-yard line and we're on 4th down, then Norvell is going for it every single time, and is doing a great job at converting to 1st downs.

55-24. The only statistic that matters speaks for itself.

And, I now feel like a human baked potato in this Memphis September heat with no clouds in sight to offer relief from the battering Sun. At half-time I headed to the water fountain to gulp down as much water as possible, and when I came back there was a lady that collapsed to the ground from dehydration and heat stroke that a couple EMTs were escorting out of the stadium.

Your last sentence is exactly why I decided to skip September tailgates this year. Well, until the Navy night game, at least.

Read my edit above about the lady that collapsed on my way back to my seat at half-time being escorted out by EMTs.

Dehydration is nothing to fool around with. They don't exactly let us cart in a cooler full of water, lol. They just charge $4 for a bottle.

I myself was light-headed in Q3-Q4 and really fighting it in the 2nd half .

they changed the policy last week and you could bring in 1 unopened water bottle. big deal i know but you COULD just keep refilling that bottle and not spend a dime
