MAC coaches support change to NCAA scholarship cap for fb
Csnbbs Toledo had this from the Toledo Blade, r.e. recruiting, and thought it might find some interest here. Don't know how/if this affects NIU, so at this point fyi. I can post the whole article if some not be able to use the link for whatever reason.

credit the Toledo Blade.

RE: MAC coaches support change to NCAA scholarship cap for fb
This looks like a good idea. Players transferring due to new coaches, the increase of graduate transfers, etc. happen, and would give teams the chance to replace players and get back to the full scholarship limit immediately. Capping it at 50 players during a 2-year period would serve the purpose of the 25 per year rule. Of course, since it is a NCAA rule it would have to be changed at the national level, and not just the MAC and other conferences. Anything that makes MAC teams and therefore the conference stronger is good for NIU.
