No need to worry. They'll be working at this site:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

most of the employees of Legion Field are actually city of Birmingham employees who work in other departments and use LF events as a part-time job. They rarely have any expertise in the areas they work. Its cronyism in its purest form. The new stadium will be run by the BJCC staff and is a union shop. The audio system which is such an issue at LF because it is run by amateurs should not be a problem at Protective Stadium because professionals will be in charge. BJCC also hires its own parking attendants and concession workers independent of the city Parks/Rec Dept

There are other collegiate football games to be there. Maybe some NFL games and concerts too. Maybe little league games.

Well, that's the downside. It turns out Legion Field is so ancient that the city has forgotten that it acts as the lock on the dimensional door keeping out Zuul from escaping to our realm. When it comes down we have to deal with Gozer the Gozerian causing destruction and the lions return to their true form and begin to feed on the people of Birmingham.

The NFL option is limited to Hawai'i, Mexico City and London. Otherwise they play only at league cities. If the city can recruit generous sponsors, special event college games that are played at neutral venues may be a reasonable alternative use. Concert producers and smaller colleges are likely to prefer the newer BJCC stadium if they want an outdoor event.

BTW, The lions at Legion Field were done by the same artist who produced the Vulcan statue for B'ham.
The concession workers at Legion Field are all untrained volunteers who have given their time to help raise money for some groups like school bands, church activities, JROTC and defined charities. The only professionally trained food purveyor at Legion Field were the pizza folks left over from when Papa John sponsored the Bowl game.

Should give the land to Major League Baseball and let them build their urban youth fields
