Ethical dilemma-guidance needed
USM is playing MSU. Guidance needed on whether it is more important to hate the p5 program or USM. Maybe it’s my childhood love of MSU but I can’t bring myself to pull for Southern against anyone-well maybe Alabama. Thoughts

Don't pay attention to it one way or the other. Whatever happens will happen.

Focus on UAB.

Lets root for the Pyrrhic victory. Southern Miss pulls off the upset, but loses so many key players to injury in the process, their season gets derailed. The losses pile up afterwards and, following their blowout loss to the Blazers in November, they are mathematically eliminated from earning a bowl game.

RE: Ethical dilemma-guidance needed
The general hierarchy I usually follow when picking who to cheer for in a game:

1. UAB over everyone.
2. C-USA teams I like over C-USA teams I hate.
3. C-USA teams over everyone else.
4. G5 teams over P5 teams (Except Memphis)
5. Underdog P5 teams over other P5 teams.
6. Memphis over SEC teams.
7. Lower SEC teams over Higher SEC teams.
8. Top SEC teams over Alabama

I'd rather have a good win for the conference and a better potential win for UAB (over USM) even if I don't like USM.

I hope we beat them at their best.
Break their hearts like we did when they were undefeated.
Took away their big time bowl bid.

Whatever it takes to get to the CUSA championship game.

Win that game and win the bowl game.

I pull for UAB to win and am willing to let the rest pick up the broken pieces on their own.

I get this is a bit tongue-in-cheek...but I wouldn't ever hope for injuries to student-athletes.

That aside, why wouldn't we want to play Southern Miss at the best they can be?
