This is my choice for Game of the Week. Analysts have the Bobcats winning the MAC; A MAC Champion should be able to beat an average Panthers team. Will be tight all game, though.

Kansas St over Bowling Green St

Kent St over Kennesaw St
Eek, not sure if these guys were this good back when the game was scheduled. The MAC usually loses a game each season to the FCS. This could be it, but I think the Golden Flashes will be motivated for their 1 win of the season

#13 Utah over Northern Illinois
The Huskies couldn't get done in DeKalb. Not sure on the road will make it easier.

Ball St over Fordham
Miami OH over Tennessee Tech
#17 Wisconsin over Central Michigan
#15 Pedophile St over Buffalo

Kentucky over Eastern Michigan
Wasn't too impressed with the Wildcats vs Toledo. A good D will make them squirm.

Like last weekend, I expect pretty much all the favorites to win, the winning teams choosing the final score. I'm optimistic about getting 1 P5 upset, but it'll be tough.

I really wanted to make this the Game of the Week... but from everything I've seen for betting lines, the Kent State/Kennesaw game was closer (Kent St. -1.5 compared to Ohio +5.5). Furthermore, ESPNs football power index gives Pitt a 76.5% chance at winning compared with Kent's 61.9% chance at winning, so it was closer in that regard as well.

Perhaps we can discuss an exception to the rule when choosing the Game of the Week to allow me to rule out a FCS vs FBS game? . Either that, or I can include a poll in each thread to allow y'all to vote on what should be the next week's GOTW... Just a thought

Yes, I think Pitt is average, but at the same time they're coming off from an ACC title game appearance. If Pitt's really is that good, Ohio's going to be in trouble. Kent St vs Kennesaw St could wind up being the better game, definitely!

Pitt could end up making it a pretty decent year this year, but either way, by default, they're not going to dominate a solid-run MAC title contender. Last year they were 6-2 in regular season conference play, which is truly nice, but ended the season 7-7. Thier division isn't strong when Miami-FL + VA-Tech are having very sub-par years. In years like that, with the right conference schedule in that division -- any average P5 team's in the race for the championship game.

Yes, I agree. I think Kent State could certainly lose this game. I would bet on them losing if I thought Kent State was going even a little downward. I believe, although by no means a conviction, that Kent State's at least a little bit on their way Up.

Not a crazy choice. On paper, Kentucky's not supposed to be quite as good as last year. Toledo's main QB went down, and it wasn't until after that Kentucky solidified and kept a lead thru the game.

I'd put this at the 3rd closest game. Followed by WMU upsetting MSU at a decent distance at 4th behind that.

Ohio @ Pitt. Tough call here. Pitt fell by 16 at home to a good Virginia team. Ohio took care of business against Rhode Island. Rourke is the X-factor.

UAB @ Akron - Both teams struggled in week 1, but UAB at least got the W, while Akron got smoked by Illinois.

BGSU @ Kansas St.

GOTW: Kennesaw St. @ Kent St. I want to pick Kent here. I really do...but Kennesaw is a Top 10 FCS squad (7th/9th in the FCS polls), and Georgia State barely beat them last season (24-20, pulled ahead in the final minute).

NIU @ Utah. Utah's defense looks scary good. NIU's new QB looks solid. I'll take Utah in what could be another low-scoring contest.

Fordham @ Ball State.

Tennessee Tech @ Miami

CMU @ Wisconsin. Wisky has some injured players, but that probably won't be enough. Hopefully, we'll do better than USF did.

Buffalo @ Penn St.

WMU @ Michigan St. Sparty's missing some players and still struggling on offense. Their Defense, OTOH... This game will probably be competitive most of the way.

EMU @ Kentucky Kentucky's team sounds like they want to make a statement in this one, especially their OL. Another game that should be competitive.
