He needs to redshirt. If he leaves he leaves.

RE: Official Game Thread: Shorter
The top three Buc QB's have less than one games experience. If they are to have a legitimate shot at winning the SoCon, they have to develop the QB position. Taking away game snaps and giving them to the fourth QB is self defeating.

Riddell gets snaps at every practice, is still learning the playbook and is working hard to get stronger.

Not good. Mitchell went off grabbing his knee. Not good, as somebody who tore their ACL.

Didn’t realize that Mitchell was 14-15 today. Great day against a bad team. I would guess Thrasher will be ready to go next week but who will start? A lot of butts in the seats but not a lot of noise today. I guess that happens with an overmatched opponent.

The football home crowd is still finding its voice. It gets a little better every year every game.

Plus the game day experience is getting better and better as the football program advances and evolves. Also, the weather last night was primo for a game and made for a wonderful evening. I think Shorter may win a couple of games this year.

Those first couple years, remember, we could well have lost to them? We were dropping games to DIII schools. As for Shorter, perhaps they should join their neighbor, Berry College, and consider DIII. Anyway, ETSU must continue building and establish a new day football program with the accompanying fan day experience that will attract the attention of top FCS recruits, their parents, and their high school coaches.

Just being realistic.

Right now I see a middle of the SoCon team. They don't look sharp at all and 11 penalties against poor competition is a red flag. For the season 182 yards of penalties.

Hoping for improvement to move to/remain in the upper tier of the SoCon this year.

Not necessarily disagreeing but what have you seen out of the other SoCon teams to make you think this? Wofford looked terrible in their first game, losing to SC Sate, and Chattanooga lost to Jax State.

My opinion, we know nothing about this team yet.

To build depth, the Bucs have to play a lot of true and redshirt freshman. These players will make a lot of mistakes in their first live college game. They will make less mistakes as they gain experience.

As far as a middle of conference pack team, don't know how you arrive at that conclusion.

So, do we pull for Chattanooga against UT?
