Ponies of Ft. Worth? I'm not sure who should be more upset -- SMU or TCU?

You're gonna have to explain that one to me because I don't follow what you're trying to say.

From Post #80.
"7:00PM North Texas (1-0) @ SMU (1-0) - The Ponies of Ft Worth went into Jonesboro and took one from the Red Wolves and now host the Mean Green from Denton. I just don't see the SMU defense stopping Fine. Look for North Texas to get a pretty valuable road win over SMU by 10."
The last time I looked, SMU was in Dallas, and TCU was in Ft. Worth. But, hey -- I haven't been back to Texas for a while.

Their record vs. G5 in that span is 159-19 (.893). And they lost only 5 home games to G5 competition during those 16 years, all by 7 points or less. Whether we agree or disagree with the line, Marshall has their work cut out for them.
Well, we are talking spread. Boise, over the last ten years, is the worst team in the MWC at covering the spread at home. This says that bettors put too much faith in Boise's dominance at home and typically push the spread too high, not that Boise isn't great at home.
My guess is you will see the spread widen this week, Boise will win, but probably not cover. Boise covers at home only about 30% of the time and Marshall covers as a road dog over 50% of the time.
Boise is excellent at home. I thought the line would have been even more. Unfortunately I think Boise is going to win decisively.
One of the other threads, a Marshall poster compare the Marshall program to Boise. Thats just not reality. Boise is the premier G5 program and if Marshall can pull off an upset it would be huge win for CUSA. Good Luck!
I believe the poster meant that relative to what we were in the late 90s and early 2000s when we were the premiere "smaller conference" team. We won 65 games in our first 6 years at the "FBS" level, 6 MAC east titles and 5 conference championships. We would have had the access spot, if it existed, in 1999 for sure and also a reasonable shot in 3 other years. Instead we got the one bowl spot the MAC had.
I have wondered how things would be different if the access bowl thing would have started sooner. How would that success we had around Moss, Pennington, Leftwich, etal have impacted the university and program?
Also, Marshall has the third best winning percentage of all G5 teams since we moved up for the 1997 season. Boise is first and Toledo second. We've had double digit wins in 8 of our 22 seasons in FBS, which is pretty impressive.

Yes. It’s not a stretch to wonder what could have been. Banker, our problem is WE KNOW what we were, 90% of this conference doesn’t.

I was going from memory, I guess I should've looked it up. It is Dallas actually.

Nice to see a game causing so much split between the people. Seems maybe 60/40 UNT over SMU right now without actually doing the math. Should be a good game

I didn't want to pick SMU, but it really is a coin flip. Tiny slight edge to the home team, even though they're both home teams LOL

Well, there are actually Mustangs in Tarrant County, but they're at Grapevine HS.
