State was the better team. The problem is that State is an awful team. So where does that put us? I'd like you to look at our talent, who the players on the team were recruited by besides USM. What you'll find is that the average best offer is ULM. You put a SWAC coaching staff recruiting SWAC level players and it's no surprise that we play at such a poor level.

the lost fumble was due to weak protection closing on his arse like flies on shite...the other was on him that we recovered...

the two ints were late and forced due to time left and the score....

you obviously didn't watch the game...he only made a handful of tosses that fell into the suspect category...he was clicking with Jones over the middle early and we simply stopped trying to win with that strategy once we got down...

I'm curious....how ya feeling about torching grambling by 6 and scoring 0 pts. in the 2nd half....

so you're going to tell me with JA hitting 'em stride with authority early and shutting down that passing attack b/c the corches got scared once we got down coupled with our safeties acting like they didn't have a clue AND our inability to take care of the edge (again) had nothing to do with overall team confidence and moral....

we knocked out their QB and still couldn't handle the run knowing it was coming straight at us...that's pathetic for a defensive minded coach to not recognize how to make that adjustment....

Again like I said we got beat by the better team today. We arent gonna see talent like that again until Alabama! I dont think Jay is the answer when it comes to being our Head Coach but I dont think hes terrible. There were things that actually looked solid today!

I watched most of the game. Congrats to USM for fighting right to the end. You got out-athleted.
When CUSA competition starts I think you guys will be in the thick of it. And I always pull for you. Even when we get beat in Hattiesburg, football or baseball, I’ve always enjoyed the fans. Always classy to us Rice folks, in my experience.

And the scary part, is that today was the best he has ever looked. That says it all. Well, I'd like to mention the wide open WR he missed by a mile that may have been a TD if he could hit a WR in stride. His next pass was an int. Today he threw it with more zip when was 15 yards or less. He must read our message board. Unfortunately, his weenie arm couldn't add any mustard to it when throwing much further.

I'm going to withhold judgment until we get into the thick of conference play. There was quite a few guys on state's team that will be playing on Sundays. We ran better against MSU than we did vs Alcorn so there's that. I still think we're good enough to win this terrible conference. We really need to handle business vs Troy.

We lost at the line of scrimmage on both sides. We could not get Hill or to Stevens enough. The defense took a step back. You can't give up 210 yards rushing. State had no turnovers either. Have to play better.

Abraham doesn't shoulder all of this loss. The 3 turnovers didn't beat us. Getting gashed for 3 first-half TD drives beat us. Our OLine is still a work-in-progress.

65,000 seat stadiums and $65,000,000 budgets get you nice things and that gets you all the nice players and coaches. Time to move on. Loitering is only going to make it worse.

State isn’t awful. They’ll win 8 games.
