Good question I was thinking the same thing-semester time I would imagine. Kinda feel for him but hey that’s life in the big show so to speak

Still waiting for a Bower to Tear connection
I bet he will have a monster game Saturday. All Utah eyes will be on Richie. And like him or not but Tears shows up big in big time games. See Nebraska or MAC championship.
You are right on both points; Tears does tend to show up in big games and Utah will be looking for Richie. If we don't give up pick 6s and short field TDs after a turnover as BYU did, and the D doesn't get gassed from being on the field too long, I think we can hold Utah to around 20 points. They have a great RB (Moss); their QB (Huntley) is good but not great. Tears needs to have a big game for us to score 20 or more points on an excellent Utah defense!

I bet you could throw the ball up to Tears and he would come down with it in traffic. It's the easy ones he can't catch.

RE: Bower
On today's Inside Huskie Football, Bowers and Ritchie were the student-athletes interviewed and Bowers said something along the lines of "Everybody hates Toledo, it seems like" when talking about growing up as a youngster in northwest Ohio and getting his house egged by Toledo fan delinquents.
How can you not love that? He's hated TURDledo since he's been a kid.
Also, for anyone else who heard the interview, is it just me or does it sound like Bowers speaks with a bit of a southern twang? I wonder if he spent any time in Virginia while growing up and if that could be it.
TUCK FOLEDO!

My gut feeling tells me that Childers is going to transfer any moment and thus making this year the year he’d have to sit out.

I'm hoping that Robinson takes a step up here soon. He's could be a nice redzone threat with his size.

À la Macintosh after the Northwestern victory, doubt it.
Where's he gonna go, some FCS team in Georgia?

McIntosh didn't transfer right after the Northwestern game. He had a tackle on the last play of the MAC Championship that year.
Assuming his grades are in order, there is no reason for him to transfer right now. He can just grad transfer like Bowers did.

Vegas has Utah as 22 point favorites. Part of me wants to take the under. We will probably lose but by 3+ touchdowns? Cmon

Tears is a great talent , no question. I feel bad for him though. Early on he was handicapped by the head coach and now that he has a better system and better QB to work with, the offensive line is shaky. In the right situation , Tears would be a beast

What's up with all the hate Tears? He's a good kid who wants to succeed, cut him some slack. He doesn't get paid, and risks his health every weekend for the love of the game.

Agreed...Tears is a gifted athlete and I trust he will show his skills in the next game or two. For heavens sake anyone who has played a sport before knows some days you don’t bring your best, but you try your best

I don't wish I'll will just hasn't proven he is a top receiver. Consistency is key. If he is a stud, Hammock will use him.

The shaky O line did not cause him to drop a perfectly thrown touchdown pass. He is a talented guy and even the best receivers occasionally drop passes, lets see if he can bounce back and have a great season. He is gifted athletically so I think that it is just a matter of concentration.

I hope that Childers hangs in there and keeps working on his game. If so, I'll bet that he gets to take some meaningful snaps at some point this season. Good coaches find ways to give the back up QB meaningful snaps in live action in case they are needed (which they all to often are) at some point in the season.
If he wants to transfer out at the end of the season to go to a program where he can start, more power to him and I will wish him nothing but the best.
