This. The MWC had a really good week but lets wait another week or two before we start trying to project how the season will go.

Yes, and week one isn't even over. Houston has an enormous chance to make a statement for the AAC tonight versus Oklahoma.

A win today would be insane however, I'm just hoping we make it competitive and stay healthy.

Houston beat a high ranked Oklahoma team three years ago, so i think you have a chance

How do you figure this? In the final CFP ranking, there were only 3 G5 schools: UCF at #8, Fresno State at #21, and Boise State at #25. You can't accurately judge entire conferences by the CFP rankings, since they don't include all the schools.
Pretty sure Utah State was there too.
Speaking of which, it should have been 5, but Anderson played not to lose at end of game, and of course they lost.

Helmet stickers, or it didn’t happen.
(Also, Northern Illinois wasn’t repping the #1 G5 when they went to the NY6 either.)

Funny you mention helmet stickers - at last week's CFF roundup, Jesse Palmer wanted to give LSU's quarterback a sticker, but he said he couldn't because they couldn't find an LSU helmet at the ESPN offices. Someone in LSU's athletic marketing department has fallen down on the job, LOL.
Second, that's correct about NIU. In two of the five years of the G5's automatic bid, the NY6 rep has been from a different conference than the #1 conference. A great team doesn't necessarily mean a great conference - e.g., Clemson.

If I was in LSU's AD, I'd be a bit irked about that. College Football Final is watched by a lot of people, and it is broadcast on the ESPN channels several times on Sunday morning. And the helmet-sticker thing is a prominent aspect of the show.
So you've got helmets from schools like Alabama and UCLA and others you are competing with for recruits sitting right there on the table for everyone to see getting stickers, and your school's helmet doesn't get that exposure because nobody thought to send in a helmet? That's a pratfall, LOL.

FWIW, Joe Burrow got a helmet sticker from the CFF guys this morning, and this time they did have an LSU helmet, lol.

Usually keeping the helmet closet at ESPN stocked with plenty of your team’s helmets is the job of the Mascots employed at the ESPN HQ (you’ve seen them in the commercials, now you know what they do*).
Problem is that LSU’s Mike the Tiger doesn’t really know how to do that, and he doesn’t even have opposable thumbs. Last time somebody tried to say something to him, he bit their head off.
*WKU’s Big Red has additional duties as well, but that’s a story for another time.

Well because Fresno St choked at the end of regulation and in OT, the MW went 2-2 thus weekend vs P5.
As for our 2 traditional worst teams, SJSU didn’t amount to much against Tulsa and UNLV got shredded by Arkansas St.
Wyoming made it past Texas St.
After Cal’s win over UW, have to wonder if Hawaii will be competitive in their next game against Washington.

I Imagine it will be awhile before the Fresno QB throws that particular end zone pass again.

Yes, Fresno let one slip away. But still, two more wins vs P5 is something.

True. Of course---on the other side of the ledger---the big Boise signature win over Florida St lost a bit of shine this week when ULM took the Seminoles to overtime in Tallahassee.

It's a joke. FSU is a 4 to 5 win team this year. That FSU win was fools gold.

How big is Boise's win over Florida State, seeing FSU should have lost to Louisiana Monroe.

I thought that was a big win for Boise because of the circumstances - a northern team traveling 2,000 miles and dealing with the Tallahassee 94 degree heat better than FSU did. I've never thought FSU was going to go 10-2 or something.
Anyway, the AAC certainly has big opportunities this coming week, with Houston hosting Washington State, Temple facing Maryland - both WSU and MD are now ranked - Tulsa vs Oklahoma State, and UCF vs Stanford.
Though Stanford getting crushed by USC takes away a lot of the lustre of that matchup, LOL.
I think Houston beats WSU. WSU is ranked #20 and I'm not sure why, they've played two really bad teams. In contrast, the game is at Houston, and by playing Oklahoma, Houston has already faced better athletes than WSU has so won't be surprised by them at all. This is a chance to get a high-profile win over an inflated P5 team.
Early prediction: Houston 31 WSU 17
