Why do I picture an explosion at the end of that skyrocketing?

Hawks, Falcons, GT and UGA. Low ceiling for Georgia State. Same for any urban school with pros and more established programs around. And lots of other competition for fans-Morehouse, Clark Atlanta, Kennesaw. Even the P5 in urban areas struggle-see Rutgers & Minnesota for example.

I'm a Morehouse grad. We support our team out of school pride or AUC/HBCU bragging rights but it's not taken too seriously. If the AUC formally merged and went DI, I would agree it would be in the competition for athletic relevance. As it is now, I think GA State could establish a decent fan base in Metro Atlanta with sustained moderate success.

Tennessee is no good right now, but they are most definitely a blue blood. Their attendance and history all attest to that.

Tennessee isn't a blue blood.

Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska
Oklahoma, Texas
Notre Dame
Alabama
Southern Cal

Tennessee is probably in that second tier with UF, FSU, LSU, Clemson, Miamia and a few others

Sure they’ve been won five titles but they’ve been average for something like 15 years now. No significant alumni base and not a ton of history outside of about a 25 year period

It will take the so called 2nd tier decades to catch up to their championships, Heismans and drafted players. Don't kid yourself.

If you have to start an argument with , sure they have 5 championships....lol

There can only be so many “blue bloods”. I wouldn’t put Miami above any of the ones I listed.

Anyone who has more than a couple national championship trophies and dozens of NFL alumni is a blue blood. Miami has 5. Tennessee had 6. You know who IS second tier?

It doesn't matter what is said in this thread about the game last week. The reality is what we are hearing from media and what all of us are experiencing daily this week from fans of other schools in the capital of college football.

Lol, I know South Carolina sucks. We aren't even second tier, probably fourth if we're being honest.

All I'm saying is Miami is not on the same level I listed because they only really have about 25 years of history. Being second tier with the UFs, FSUs, Tennessees, LSUs, and Penn States of the world is nothing to sneeze at.

I was also quite happy to see Ga State get the win Saturday because I hate Tennessee and I like Shawn Elliott as a person

Even with the comeback, keep in mind pretty much any team from the SoCon is roughly as good as half of FBS on a given night, apologies or (definitely) not...yet.

From beating Tennessee on the road to needing a comeback to beat a furry at home in a week. That’s a heck of a swing.

Georgia State led the entire second half. "needing a comeback to win" is a bit of a stretch.
