LOL. What have you seen from this admin that leads you to believe they'll make a competent hire to replace BW?

I'm sure there's an up-and-comer from DIII Strychnine College who's salary we can triple for some more 4 & 8 seasons...

I know football & basketball are the most important ones, but let's take a look at all sports from last year:

Baseball: 35-21, 16-14 conference
Mens Golf: 11th in conference
Womens Golf: 3rd in conference, NCAA at-large bid
Men's Soccer: 11-5-2, 6-2 conference
Women's Soccer: 8-7-4, 5-3-2 conference
Men's Tennis: 13-10
Women's Tennis: 19-5
Wrestling: 9-7, 5-2 MAC; 32nd out of 63 at NCAAs
Sailing: no clue how to read these
Field Hockey: 10-7, 3-4 big east
Lacrosse: 5-13; 2-3 big east

For what it's worth, odusports does not make that easy. And I'm pretty sure a few are wrong, had to check Lacrosse again as the fact sheet was different than the website.

So other than lacrosse and perhaps men's golf, there are no dumpster fires. I don't think many conference mates could say the same, though I concede I don't have the time to go through this exercise for 13 other teams.

I'm not sure what the conclusions of this is, but there you go. No dominant teams, no terribly awful teams. Big East/AAC in other sports, so we are positioned there at least. I think we also have more sports than any other CUSA program.

We have had 1 winning season in 5 years of CUSA. After this year it will likely by 1 out of 6. That's not cutting it. I'm thankful for all he's done. If it weren't for him we wouldn't have this stadium or conference affiliation. Regardless, the past can only carry you so far, and 6 years of substandard performance is too much to accept.

We needed a lucky 4th quarter come back to beat NSU. Liberty beat our ass last year. It's over.

Well you'll be happy to know, I think our coach is being closely scrutinized this year. But be careful of what you wish for, a new coach is not coming here for what we pay Bobby. It's gonna take a significant raise for him and the staff to be able to compete. I did an impromptu poll of people in my seating area last night, and most seem pretty happy with Wilders tenure at ODU so far. Alot of people feel without him this program would be nowhere near where it is. And that includes the new stadium. We've come an awful long way for a 10 year old program. I also feel alot of the credit belongs to Bobby Wilder. I am going to sit back and see how this season plays out.

Smartt is a good qb. That is not a great comment.

Agreed. He should get better too as he gets more comfortable running the offense and continues to build a rapport with the WRs.

It looks as though the poster is talking about THIS team and THIS season.

TH was the one who put this program on the national map and helped us be competitive with some of the FBS programs when we had barely anything around him. Without TH we would still be at the FCS level in the CAA, which I believe many fans would be okay with, and we probably would be thriving at said level. However, we aren't there anymore and TH is walking through the door and BW has yet to find a suitable QB to lead this offense and team to a winning season.


That would make zero sense then.
