Many talking heads considered Oregon the PAC’s best chance to make the playoffs this year. Not sure it ends the Ducks chances but this certainly makes it harder for them.

What talking heads? ESecPN??

Utah and Washington are 1-0

Not sure their names some of the ESPN talking heads discussing playoff scenarios before the start of the season

Seriously, there is no justifying the bottom of this conference. It is U-G-L-Y

Tennessee really looked awful in losing to Georgia State. Truly the worst loss of the weekend. There is no middle ground in this conference. You are either contending for a National Championship, or you are playing some real garbage football
If I am correct, the SEC went to more than a few bowl games last year. Most programs across all the P5 will never play for the CFB championship. So what. Having a good season and a nice bowl game is the goal and overwhelming reality for most P5 schools.

Of course because I’m a UNC fan the ACC is brought up. Well, FSU sucks and has a horrible coach. I expected that Boise win.

That game was gift wrapped at the end for UNC. UNC simply was the first NC based ACC team who bothered to cash in a Chicken gift instead of returning to sender.

Getting boat raced by UVA and then self-destructing to UNC should increase Muschamp's bathwater a couple of dozen degrees.

Muschamp just about left the Florida program in tatters, and he's been steadily doing the same at South Carolina. The knock on him at most places is that he is a good motivational speaker for the kids, but a very poor manager of staff and not very strong at evaluating talent. But being a hail fellow well met he's learned to B.S. his way through the first couple of years before having to leave. I think the sooner they let him go the better they will be able to look for a proven replacement.

From the time Spurrier left this program has been in a death spiral. They can't afford to just hang in there.

that's pretty much true for anyone in college football right now....

Muschamp is obviously a football meat-head. When Clemson plays South Carolina, the contrast between his face and Dabo's, which indicates a football IQ-gap of about 80 points, is astonishing.

It is unreal that Muschamp has been able to keep getting great SEC jobs. It reminds me of when Matt Millen was able to keep his big executive job with the Detroit Lions year after putrid year. I concluded he must have some serious dirt on the Lions top brass that held them hostage.

Maybe Muschamp has the same regarding elite SEC circles such that there is an unspoken rule that someone has to keep him employed?

He's probably a really good coordinator. But head coach is a step up.

Don't you think it is a bit early to write off Ole Miss and Missouri? At least they played decent schools... schools that circled our game on their calendars. Props to the underdogs. That's why we settle it on the field. That said, it doesn't frame the whole year for Missouri, Ole Miss, or a lot of other P5 schools.
