My prediction is that Tennessee will be a lot like Ole Miss. They will get a star player or two, and have a 9-win season every once in a while to get their fan bases excited, but will never get to the mountaintop again.

If UCF ran the table and then got beat by an undefeated Memphis team, we would be in the BCS (again, provided that Ole Myth won its remaining games and was in the SEC championship game).

I think if you want to really dream... ole miss wins out, but loses to undefeated Georgia BAD in the SEC Champ game. Big 10, Big 12 AND PAC 12 all beat each other and no champ with less than 2 losses. (maybe one champ with one loss). Undefeated Clemson gets in. Georgia is in. Even with all that and undefeated Memphis... I still don't see it.

It would take a miracle season for ANY G5 team to reach the playoff. As good as I do believe this season will be, already FAR too many good P5 teams to even dream right now. They will ALWAYS say that no G5 team deserves it.

And I see it as even more precarious than that. I think like you do that OM would need to go undefeated and then lose to Georgia, but not so bad as to devalue our win over them, and not so close as to have them go in as a second SEC team over us. Although, at that point, even with a close loss, it would still be a second loss to our "no losses". Nah, it might be better that they lose very close to Georgia.

Or, hey... They beat Alabama, but lose to some Eastern team in the regular season, then WIN the SEC champ as a 2-loss team.

A top 6 UCF does nothing more for us than a top 10 UCF does...gives whoever wins the game (assuming we both have similar records to Boise) enough to get the Access Slot - which is all we can hope for.
