RE: ETSU at App
The App run game still looks explosive. Passing game not as much so.

How the App D will handle the UNCC O will be interesting.

Pierre Banks, former LB for us. Yes, he wears me out as well. Great guy, but something about his delivery gets under my skin.

His commentary is good. It's just the delivery.

He’s better than the play by play guy. He sounds like Bert from Sesame Street.

I don’t think Charlotte will be so easy ... we have a lot of work to do.

RE: ETSU at App
I think the offense was vanilla on purpose. Not having Sutton hurt the long passing game and Drinkwitz was calling plays from the sideline for the fist time ever.

Defense looked well coached, if a bit lax at times.

Only thing I'm really concerned about are the injuries.

42-7, I had 55-6 but I’ll take it. Lots of uncertainty but hoping reason being not trying to show our hand. Not worried about UncCh. Not sure they’re any better than ETSU.

Painful is right for both announcers. I started muting everytime Banks spoke. His comments were long, boring, and obvious. Battle was ok but missed flags called and several dropped passes. Is he watching the game?

I hate to be negative, but even my wife, who plays texas hold'em on her ipad while the game is on, looked up and said "how can you listen to those guys"

p.s., My apologies to Adam Witten for originally naming him as the pbp announcer.

Harrison Battle is the espn+ PBP guy. He’s still young and improving. Adam Witten is our radio guy and does a very good job.

Harrison began doing baseball games when DJ left and does some basketball games as well. It's so painful I mute the sound and watch in silence. Banks is a great guy, but gets too wordy and uses too many cute phrases. His delivery is also very tough to take. When you pay next to nothing it's hard to expect high quality broadcasts. Plus we don't have the luxury of having a local TV personality or major radio station with a solid sports guy. The radio broadcast is pretty good considering Adam and former App WR Sims MacElfresh are still pretty young, but do a decent job. Our obligatory female sideline reporter Molly Cotton is also really young and asks some odd questions. It is certainly not as professional of a group as I'd like to see, but as a radio & TV major I'm probably a little more critical than most will be.

Harrison relaxes his delivery for baseball and is just fine there. Football just doesn't seem like his forte. Pierre is a Mountaineer great and I love him. But. He. Speaks. In. An. OVER. Enunciated. Choppy. ONE. Word. Sentence. Delivery. And. It's. HARD. To. Listen. TO. 3 or 4 years into it he still needs a lot of work and needs to cut out the HMIC catchphrases. But, its ESPN+. You get what you pay for.

Could not disagree more about HB and baseball. He's totally lost. Spends an excessive amount of time talking about things that have nothing to do with what's going on and gets tongue tied when something happens. I don't care to hear about the pitcher tugging on his jersey, adjusting his hat, looking at the ball, or playing with the rosin bag. It's clear he doesn't have anything to talk about during pitches and has to fill with stuff like that.

As long as DG is AD and App is supplying the talent for these games, DJ ain't coming back.
