When was the last time ...
You sat back and said, “The defense really won this one for us?” Twilight Zone.

Defense played well. Encouraging to see. Even though 364 yards of offense isn't bad.

RE: When was the last time ...
Coach Fuller came from Marshall.

I always use a variation of Marshall's Chant, "WE ARE MARSHALL!!", and, turn it into "WE ARE MEMPHIS!!!!"

I think, with Coach Fuller, being responsible for the win today, "WE ARE MEMPHIS!!!" fits well for Memphis this year.

GTG!!!!

WE ARE MEMPHIS!!!!

no, not quite like that anyway

Could be Norvell's first team as either an Asst. Coach or HC, where defense > offense

Over an entire game probably 2014

10 penalties for Memphis to 3 for Mississippi helped keep it closer than it was on the field. The roughing call was big but so was the PI against Memphis. Think about it, only Memphis mistakes prevented this from being a complete rout

That and a handful of odd play calls, but hard to kvetch too much when the shuffle pass sealed the game late. The better team won. Period.

I thought both of those calls were iffy but the rebels are blaming the loss on the refs.

Of course they are

Even if iffy the pile driving of QBs has been a point of emphasis, and that was 1 of 3 penalties on Mississippi while we had ten including an ejection for targeting, correct call, and a TD assisting iffy PI, while MS was not called for PI

We outgained the **** out of them and but for some deive stalling 3d and 4th down plays we likely win this game something like 27-10

It is what it is

They will also say

This was our Super Bowl blah blah

Fun win, local school, but since I got to MSU in 1983 we have beaten them something like 8 times. Lost to them more than that but this is really the norm

The Memphis offense truly was awful. That's a big concern. The defense was great, although the ole miss offense was also truly awful.
