I used to root for ECU when Ruff and Lincoln were there but this thread cries desperation.

Calling the P5 the cartel is stupid. We have FCS and G5 for a reason. I don't think ECU belongs in the g5 but no one asked me. Small privates in areas of this country need to be demoted and I'm looking directly at Waco and Ft. Worth.

Tech hasn't won a conference championship out right since 1955 when they were a member of the border conference. Since then they've been co-champions twice. Once in 1976 when they finished in a three way tie with A&M and UH. And most recently in 1994 when they finished in a 5 way tie for first in the SWC because A&M (the only team that was worth a **** that year) was on probation. Tech fans don't get to make the calls on who gets demoted or promoted. Just appreciate being in a conference with two legit blue bloods and stay humble.

Tough loss tonight in Norman for UH. It's tough to win in Norman

I get the showdown in Dallas but it would be fun to see the Horns and Sooners play a H&H in their respective stadiums.

I think Alan Bowman had a history making night vs UH last season. Jalen Hurts just had a history making night vs UH.

I think Dana will do well in the American

Baylor and TCU have been Big XII co-champions and been to the Cotton and Peach bowls in the CFP era. Baylor has a recent Heisman Trophy. TCU beat the Big Ten champion in the Rose Bowl a decade ago. What has Texas Tech accomplished as a member of the cartel? Your best season was in 2007. Just be happy your school is part of the cartel and move on.

The MWC has a great weekend. The only negative is SDSU scoring 6 points on FCS Weber State.

One of our best seasons was 2008 not 2007. I guess Texas Tech should shut the football program down and bow down to schools in Ft. Worth and Waco.

I hope UTEP doesn't beat Texas Tech silly next weekend.

Not sure why you have an issue with TCU and Baylor both schools pull their weight in the conference and you’d be hard pressed to replace them. The Big 12 is very lean right now which is why the conference has competitively improved across the board.

Uneducated people think those schools are more valuable than the 3rd largest supported University in Texas.

Few teams go in to Norman and leave with a W. I agree about UT-OU. It'd be cool if they played H+H. Bowman tore our D apart last year. Hurt shredded it today. We've been weak on that side of the ball since Orlando left with Herman. Is what it is. I'm optimistic about Dana. No shame in losing to OU, but we definitely have a ways to go.

It was a good showing by Houston, and I agree, it bodes well for AAC play.

Despite the defensive problems - which almost everyone has versus OU - Houston looked as good as any AAC team this weekend, though judging UCF was hard because of who they played.

Annual neutral site games are special. I've been to Dallas where the Good Orange meets the bad red at the 50 and to Jacksonville where the Good red meets the ugly orange in the end zone. I'd love to do Army-Navy someday.

Hurts running on them wasn't any surprise. Hurts scorching them in the air was. In the past he has not been real accurate. Time will tell if Hurts has gotten better as a passer.

Yes, no question, if you want to focus on the negative, Houston's defense was pretty defenseless against Hurts and OU, running and passing.

Still, I bet there will be more than a couple Big 12 teams who suffer worse beatings at the hands of OU than Houston did.

I'm glad Houston isn't on USF's schedule.

Okay

Let’s say no P4 wants either TCU or Baylor

Which P4 wants mighty TTU by itself?

You keep telling us TT deserves to be in a P4

So which P4 agrees with that statement?

It will be interesting to see what the 7 G5 over P5 winners do with those wins. Can Georgia State generate some synergy and ride that tide to an SBC title?

I think they’ll end up like ULM was in 2012. Beat a P5 team on the road, lose a few conference games and go to a bowl game. I also think GSU’s record will be better than ULM’s 8-4 that year since GSU only had the 1 P5 game on the schedule instead of the 3 ULM had in 2012.

I'm always amused when I see the P5 conferences referred to as a "cartel". Not only it is painfully childish, but it reveals just how desperately the writer desires their school to be part of the group. And if that were to ever happen for their school, how quickly the "cartel" references would disappear and the lording of their status over former peer schools and conferences would begin.

I am guessing this was started by an AAC fan, as they meet what you mentioned, they are so jealous they make up P6 and a fake National title.

Well said. Most G5 presidents would love to be a member in the "dwarf"-"Little 8" club.

Yes, it makes no sense, because the G5 conferences all helped negotiate and sign the CFP agreement.

It seems then that your issue with those people or that perspective rather than the schools themselves. Don’t drag Baylor and TCU into the doesn’t really concern them.

Calling the P5 the cartel is stupid.

What about Tim Brando? Last I checked he wasn’t president of an AAC university or even affiliated with any member school.
