On the first play of 4Q, they passed on a 4th-down FG, got the first down and drove into the endzone ... and then completed a rainbow pass to a WIDE-OPEN receiver for the 2-point conversion. Ohio State leads 35-14, but is playing listlessly and sloppily, while the Florida Owls has upped their intensity and execution.

UPDATE: Then Kiffin gets cocky (when is he not?) and calls for a pooch kickoff toward the left sideline. It flies OB with no chance to have been caught in bounds, giving Ohio State the ball (after the penalty yardage) in FAU territory. The Buckeys march down for a TD. 42-14, with 10:43 left in the game. And shortly after I typed this, FAU made several nice pass completions and marched the length of the field to score its second TD of the 4th quarter. 42-21. 8:16 left in the game.

>> Final score: 45-21.

Sorry its not cocky to try to get the ball back with just under 11 minutes to go down by 21. To kick it sends a message to the team that the coaches have quit when quite clearly the players did anything but quit after the 1st quarter. It might be more cocky to do that pooch kick if the score was reversed. It was just poorly executed. It also sets future opponents on notice that we will try it.

You guys have a really good looking team. I am so impressed how FAU could have easily folded after that 1st quarter yet they played hard until the end.

Best of luck the rest of the year.

Thanks, I agree. After the first quarter I saw a lot of things that were problems last year not be problems in this game. They didn't quit and I think the defense will be one of the best in CUSA.

We also survived relatively healthy. BJ Emmons went out with a broken foot, but nothing significant after that.

Good to hear and I'll be following you all the rest of the season.

It's good to play measuring stick games like this. Kids want to play the best. It's a legit selling point. You have to keep these seemingly unwinnable games on your schedule no matter the budget disparity.

UCF won't have Ohio State linemen depth, by far, but they'll have similar speed. Robison needs a running game to help him out.

Last year we did pretty much fold when falling far behind against Oklahoma.

I also hope that UCF will not have such large and strong DL-men either... It took us a while to solve their D-line's size.

This is a chance to make a statement in-state. Kiffin needs a big win. He needs some luck.
