52-yard punt ... but run back 10+ ... flag on the play. Holding Army on the runback.

Total fail on the Rice third down call.

Army 1st down at their 5.

QB keeps for nine ... several Owls ran by or missed him. Sigh.
2nd & 1 -- Adams STUFFS the Army runner behind the line. Impressive.
3rd & 1 (should be 2). ... Runner gets 6 over right tackle. Sigh.

1st down at 17. Runner clogged up as he tried to run right. Gains 1.
2nd & 9 -- Option left ... QB keeps but can't find a hole to run through. Gains 1.
3rd & 8 -- Owls jump offside. GRRRR!

3rd & 3 at the Army 25 -- end of 1Q.

Almost incredible that a D1 team cannot find a guy who can complete a short pass.

Unfortunately, the Army broadcast is the better of the two. It doesn't seem to do any buffering, and I have had to restart the Rice broadcast three times.

Passing game absolutely ineffectual; running game is better, but averaging 2.3 yds a carry isnt going to do it.

Defense seems prepared and able. But Army hasnt tossed a single pass.

But the offense looks like the result of an East Texas gig trek at the lake.

Owls going to give up some points here... but they are a lot more physical this year, so far.
