Just a young man driving a suv-something too fast on what looks like a 4 lane road doing exactly what Cletus describes. Really sad.

From what I saw, the initial (white) suv that passed by the pickup that was turning left from the light.......was racing with the (dark colored) maybe black suv that eventually hit the wall. That white suv was going just as fast (if not faster) as the suv that TC crashed in.....I looks as though whomever was driving that black suv, did its best to avoid that pickup truck......maybe saving the occupants lives of the pickup truck and sealed its own fate.......Unknowingly, as all of this happens within fractions of seconds....REALLY REALLY amazing scenario, while being simultaneously sad

Watched again. I saw the white vehicle go past, but I didn't think that was related because it was 3 seconds from when it went by before the impact of the SUV/truck. You are probably correct though. In my day if you were that far behind whoever you were racing then you had already dialed it down to the speed limit accepting defeat. But we also didn't race SUVs or fly through intersections like that either. Not that any of that matters at all. You are right that he did swerved to avoid hitting the pickup with the brunt of the force which ended up being with the telephone pole instead.

Man so thankful I survived my immature years of driving like this.

Yep.

My riskiest driving occurred in the mountains of Canada going way too fast in a blizzard on the trans-Canada highway at night through road construction at that. Or perhaps simply driving here in Virginia Beach at night in a blizzard with cataracts. Keep in mind I only have useful vision in one eye anyway. Or driving home after cataract surgery.

But wait.. there's more! How about going 127mph down a mountain in Montana in a Honda Accord just to wake myself up after driving over 30 hours straight? Could have pushed it much faster but the risk was already too great and I had already woke myself up. 03-lmfao Oh yeah, simply driving 40+ hours straight a couple times probably tops the list because you truly do feel like a zombie after you get in the 30+ hour range with all the Monster drinks and other tactics to stay awake. I could never do anything like that anymore at my age. Or could I?

I'm sure there's much more I'm not thinking about. I've totaled several cars, one of them a couple times. And literally fell asleep driving once, resulting in the only legit flat my Accord has had in 16+ years and almost 300k miles. (But I have to argue that since it simply was torn off the rim. No hole.) So any of those situations had to have topped the list as well.

By the way that 127mph speed record was recorded in my old Garmin for years until I decided to take it on a plane. Then it was like 500+ mph. 03-lmfao

Honorable Mention: Although I wasn't the driver, I'd say my most dangerous situation in a car was a high speed getaway chase from god knows who. All I know is the driver flipped someone off, and then we were chased through the streets of Edinburgh, Scotland going through several red lights at high speeds to finally get away. I could barely understand the dialect so I didn't quite get all the details other than that. lol

Sickening to watch. All of us do incredibly dumb stuff, especially around that age, most of us are just fortunate to live to talk about it. Prayers for this young man's family.

So amazing, people that are inebriated/intoxicated make it out of those types of crashes frequently 03-drunk

Drunks don't brace for impact like sober people. At least that is the common belief.
