according to Verbal Commits we are 2nd in the conference in "star" rankings. Not sure if this is for this recruiting class or overall. The league's 12 teams go from overall star rankings of 2.0 to 2.361 (GaSt). We are at 2.318. Obviously there is not a whole lot of fluctuation among the teams. So I doubt it means much. Still I'd rather be second than near or at the bottom. It also seems to support the notion, among some fans on this board, that Darrell is taking our recruiting up a notch or two. If that's true we should be competitive (or better) in the next year or 2. I have no real expectations for this season, but am hoping for the best.

Verbal commits just updated and added coupet and Palermo which makes our average star rating 2.42, the best in the sun belt. Georgia state 2nd at 2.36.

That is pretty impressive. Stars don't mean everything, but they do mean that someone somewhere thought the kid had potential. When you have stars spread over the entire team to that extent, good things ought to happen.
