There is a ton of discussion around football in that article. Very interesting. Please go straight to FBS so that UTRGV, along with NMSU, can form the base of an FBS conference.

To start up a football program, there is really not much money to be made at the FCS level; unless UTRGV's primary goal is to leave the WAC and join the Southland Conference. Otherwise, the real money that can infuse a athletic department is at the FBS level with big money games, some TV revenue, and ultimately joining a FBS conference like the Sun Belt or C-USA; that opens up bowl game opportunities.
